This is owner of GTM Auto I am doing this review to respond to the 5 year old review sense Google doesn't care if fax are true or not. First want everyone to know we stand by our work, and warranty all parts & labor we install. This customer extremely neglected her vehicle until timing belt snapped, we inspected it & found timing belt broken, and timing covers bowed & crewed up from rubbing in pulleys, water pump leaking, tensioner & pulleys very worn. We recommended replacing all damaged/worn components customer declined replacing all components & only authorized replacing timing belt & water pump, She stated she was going to sell vehicle & just need it to run again. We documented this on her invoice. A few mounts later bolt for idle roller sheered off causing timing belt to come off & be damaged; this bolt was never touched by us due to her declining replacing pulleys!! We offered to re-due job & at cause but that wasn't good enough. I don’t like a bad review but some people don’t listen to mechanics & decline needed work & maintenance. Belt would never have broken if she kept her vehicle in good shape & followed mechanics recommendations. Also she lied on her review & to me when stated she just wanted to sell vehicle & only wanted belt replaced.
I hope this clears up is, no thanks to Google.

Been going here for years. Gary is the best mechanic we have ever found. He's a professional and has always done our repairs right the first time. We simply won't go anywhere else. Thanks for many years of excellent service!

He did an awesome job on my car the first time I took it in 3 years ago. Gary was very nice and treated me with respect, which is not something I am used to from mechanics.

However, when my timing belt broke, I took it to him, he seemed to know what he was doing, he knew my car didn't have an interference engine and so after the timing belt got put back on it, it would run just fine. He also fixed my water pump at the same time as it had been leaking. I did not get my tensioner replaced though (and this shouldn't have been an issue...it was still in good shape.) However he tore up my timing covers getting them off only to find out that he couldn't find replacements. He put it back on to the "best of his ability" which was wrong (they interlock and he put the wrong one on the bottom.) which caused the belt to rub and shave plastic off of the cover. He assured me the ticking noise from the belt hitting the plastic covers wasn't something to worry about.

Less that a year later, the tensioner bolt shears off at 30mph. I take it back to hime and he tells me it'll be $900 to fix it. I told him I want to take it home and he charges me $400 just because he took it apart. I get it home have someone else look at it and the tensioner has been rubbing against the plastic cover and eventually caused it to seize. (The same cover he couldn't replace after he tore it up getting it out of the car.)

I called coveys in Marysville and got my timing covers that I needed (used but in great condition) for only $100.

Do not ever take your car here!!!! I had to spend an extra $130 for the timing assembly, $100 to get a friend of mine to do the labor, $400 for Gary to tell me he wanted way to much money and $100 for the covers that should have been found and purchased by Gary in the first place.

Finding a good mechanic is hard, but this isn't a good mechanic.
