I am in my 60's, a former nurse and mother of two.  I have dealt with a lot of hospitals, doctors and nurses in my lifetime, but Mercy in Springfield far surpasses any medical facility experience that I have ever had.  My daughter experienced catastrophic complications during and after the birth of my granddaughter in January.  I truly believe that if she had been in any other hospital, with any other group of doctors and nurses, I would not be able to tell you now that she and my beautiful grand baby not only survived, but are thriving with no long term effects of a condition that has a very high mortality rate, especially for the mother.  I rejoice to give God the glory and credit, but He definitely used Mercy Hospital and the wonderful doctors and nurses in L&D to perform multiple, indisputable miracles.  These are people who know their profession and perform it as flawlessly as is humanly possible, but even above that, they are the most caring group of medical professionals I have ever had the privilege of seeing in action and are willing to be used of God to serve His children.  I will love always Mercy Hospital and every person we came in contact with and will praise God for them as long as I live.

My Mom was 80 when she stayed several days for a rapid heart rate.. Nurses were cold and showed no care for her while pouring affection on the younger woman next to her. In the end, as she was released, they made her walk out and refused to push her in a wheel chair. Just an awful experience. I don't know if it's isolated to this group of nurses or if it's in the culture there. If you're a bigot against older folks, please get a job at the mall and leave medical care to professionals

Worst hospital I have ever been too. Staff was very very rude. We were on floor 4A. And they were  horrible.  Keep my mother n law for a week. Let her out. The next week she was in Cox and they are getting her well

the staff disregarded me on a visit and left me in a side room for 6 hours before taking my blood and realising that they were wrong in amusing me of being on an illegal substance. upon returning 2 years later with my girlfriend they set us aside for over 3 hours and took patients in to be treated that had arrived well after us. This hospital is judgemental and has terrible service.

Had to go to the ER 3 times and ended up leaving each time never getting looked at by the doctor. They are the most nonchalant group of medical workers I've seen. 
The first two times I went bc of a miscarriage, I waited 4 hours and decided to just go home and come back if I needed to. I ended up feeling like I needed to the next day and it took another 4 hours never being seen. I was in incredible pain and I just said forget it I'll go home and at least try to get somewhat comfortable. 
I went again recently bc of chest pain and shortness of breath and a few other symptoms, got X-rays done, waited 6 hours until I decided that I would just go home and try a clinic Monday morning. The place wasn't even busy enough to justify the hours of waiting. Plus even though I asked several times for my X-ray results they refused to give them to me. 
This hospital is awful. Too bad OCH on the north side had to shut down :( they cared about patients and the wait was nowhere near the amount of time it is at Mercy.
