Attention all parents who have young children! Never take your infant, toddler, or any child under the age of 13 here. They will completely blow you off when you have Vomiting, coughing, and febrile child. Zofran and Tylenol was not the answer. You should not dismiss those symptoms so easily. You made our life that much harder. Take your child to Frederick Hospital. Their pediatric unit is wonderful. To the PA by the name of Jason. You should work on your bedside manor and listening capabilities. You asked me the same question over and over and never listened to anything that was said. We understand it's 3am but that's what you get paid for correct?

Worst hospital I ever seen. My father got knocked down by a car. he was complaining of shoulder pain and hip pain. found broken collarbone but was told his hip was bruised. Well after consulting with another hospital his hip is broken in half. Way to go meritus I wouldn't recommend You folks to my worst enemy. Your hospital and staff are pathetic. The emergency department folks are rude and obnoxious. The floor staff are not far behind. The money they are paid to do their jobs and when you ask for something they act like it is a burden.

It's very easy to write a negative review on a hospital. No one goes there for a good time. People who go there are at their worst mentally. The people who work there have a full day of nothing but negative problems, and patients wanting immediate relief. All of my dealings with Meritus have been outstanding. Everyone that I've encountered have been kind, polite, and compassionate. I don't know where these rude people are that some respondents refer to. We should be proud to have a first class hospital in our region as Meritus.

This is absolutely the worst hospital in Maryland. I don't understand how there is a 4 hour wait for the emergency room. There are ppl that need help and you tell them to wait an continue to feel worst. And the customer serivce there sucks! I hate this hospital. Please, if you can make it go to Frederick Memorial Hospital.

I went to Mertius ER straight from Meritus Urgent Care at the beginning of September. What most people don't understand is that Meritus is a trauma hospital and when traumas are coming in, those with aches, pains, broken bones, sprains, etc are left out in the waiting room in the ER. The ER is designed to take the most critically ill patients first. That is why if you walk in throwing up and a person walks in after you with chest pain, the chest pain is going back before you. Meritus Urgent Care is outstanding and should be your first line of treatment for general illness, broken bones, sprains, etc. If the urgent care feels your case is more dire then they send you to the ER via ambulance or by car if you have someone to drive you depending on the severity of your case. I went to Urgent Care with shortness of breath and leg pain. In my history they noticed and I told them that I had DVTs and Pulmonary Embolism once before. Despite my insistence that it probably wasn't anything major like that, they still whisked me into the back. Within 10 min I was on my way to the ER for further evaluation. At the ER, and I arrived by car, they already knew I was coming because their urgent care called ahead. I was whisked back for triage and straight into a holding room where I was questioned by a CNP. She made the decision to do blood work and Doppler of my legs, which were negative. My blood work came back within an hour and it showed d-dimer elevation so she quickly sent me to CT for chest. About another hour later she came in and said I was being admitted. I looked puzzled because by this point I was feeling ok but just a little short of breath. It turns out that I had FIVE pulmonary embolisms, partially collapsed lungs and only two upper lobs working properly. The entire Meritus Medical System saved my life on September 4, 2017. Please look for more reviews from me soon. I am breaking this all up into different reviews. One on my hospital stay, and two more on my ER visits AFTER I was discharged too early. This review well deserves the 5 star rating I am giving it.
