I travel around the country with my job and visit lots of casinos. I took my daughter to MGM casino because she had been wanting to go with me. This was only my second time there and I don't really remember my first time... Been a year ago at least. We walk in and I'm looking for a particular game. After a few minutes I ask a worker... Very pleasant and courteous young man. He walked me through the casino to where the machine was. I highly recommend MGM... One of the best casinos in the country.

Don't get your hopes up,  this is not Las Vegas.  The service is questionable, meaning they aren't attentive or even happy.  From the servers by the pool to the bar tenders, not happy people.  The exception would be the dealers and the Pit Bosses, they were very helpful and fun and made it and enjoyable time.
The rooms are nice and the facility is pretty nice overall. The spa and indoor pool and even impressive. We wanted to go in the spa but they were doing maintenance on them so we weren't able to.
The biggest knock on this facility is that they nickel and dime you for everything. No free drinks while gambling, even betting $200 or $300 a hand, no late check-out without being charged, not able to surrender at the blackjack table, I could go on but you get it.
The gym and the lobby to the hotel were pretty cool, and may have been my favorite part.
Overall if you're looking for a place to stay in Detroit you could do worse than this place, it is comfortable and fairly nice. It's just clearly not Vegas.

Went with my husbands to the MGM Casino to just walk around in a different atmosphere, drink some red bulls and have a happy night together. This night was my husband's 1st time at the MGM Grand Casino, so we signed him up for a player's card. Everything happened good for us this night! Found out he had a $10 free play and I had a $5 free play; so we used that (+ some) to play some slots and have a good night out together for a couple hours. All the workers at the service desks we're super helpful and the wait staff was very happy and polite towards us. Everything

Really really nice casino. Tons of machines to play on and staff is pretty friendly and helpful. The food court is awesome and I love that I can pay with comps from playing slots. Valet parking is easy and doesn't take forever for you to get your vehicle.

The room. I stayed in was BEAUTIFUL. The experience was like a extravagant, weekend getaway, in my very own city! My room was clean, elegant, and SO relaxing. I will DEFINITELY be returning! As a single woman, staying alone, safety is key. The entrance to the hotel was always occupied by an attendant, verifying that each person who entered, was an occupant of the hotel. This made my stay SO relaxing and allowed me to enjoy my "getaway" in my hometown JUST PERFECT! THANK YOU MGM FOR A JOB WELL DONE!
