The 144-room Trumbull and Porter hotel Detroit has undergone a major renovation touching all aspects of the hotel including guest rooms, drinks and dining, fitness center and outdoor space. Trumbull and Porter was a beautiful modern hotel with an awesome on site coffee shop as well as restaurant and bar. The staff were friendly and very efficient at check in and check out and provided us with extra towels and toiletries when we needed them. The room was very comfortable and the modern yet still cozy furnishings will appeal to your inner Scandinavian. The room also came with great terry cloth tones to enjoy during your stay. Classy!

The hotel has a hip feel to it. A feeling that if you're not sporting a full beard, you're out of place. The bar staff are great! But.... they sell "craft beer only" but they have Budweiser on tap?!?!? I am far from a beer snob. I wanted a light beer (Miller lite, ultra, Coors light) and they had NOTHING, but they claim to only carry craft beer, and they had Bud on tap. Very disappointed that I could t enjoy a few beers I could enjoy with friends. The rooms were okay, considering it's a remodeled hotel. Doors need trimmed so they can close without a lot of force. The concrete floor in the room was different, I wasn't a fan of it. Again, okay hotel. They will find their Mitch. But for me, a good simple beer before bed is important.

Trumbull and porter is a sweet hotel with a lot of character in a perfect Detroit location. Refreshingly unique, we dug the lighting in the double-entry hallway. Parking lot was super secure/locked up like Ft. Knox. Front desk people were super friendly and accommodating. Also note the sweet backyard area picnic benches and firepit area/stage. A++

This is an interesting hotel with a lot of history. It used to be Holiday Inn in the past. It was tastefully restored. My room had a fridge. The rooms don't have carpet. They have concrete floors with a rug on the floor. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. They have very nice restaurant. I had some leftover food from the previous night. They warmed it up for me. I would definitely stay there again.

In Love with Trumbull & Porter! This is a modern unconventional hotel, the staff has no uniform and there is no rigid "ceremony" which most hotels have & it feels like individualism is encouraged here. I felt the most comfortable and at ease here than i have at any other hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly & the rooms were very clean. I never take baths at hotels, and I took a bath every night because the tub was so clean. While there is no coffee in the rooms, each room comes with a mini fridge & a fluffy, soft bathrobe and slippers to wear. The interior design is a mix of minimalistic modern with a touch of industrial chic. The fitness center was well equipped and clean and the area was great - we walked around every day of our 4 night stay. The only constructive criticism I have is that for some reason there are no luggage carts which made it quite a hassle to check in & out since we had a lot of bags.
