Made reservations at Roast because of the amazing reviews that I had seen. The valet makes a very tough to park area accessable. The overall service from the staff was definitely a contributing factor to my review. I felt welcome from the second that I walked in, and was immediately helped out. Once in Roast, I was fed one of the most beautiful and delicious meals of my life. Would highly recommend the Westin as well as Roast in the highest regard.

High end hotel for a reasonable price. Newer modern rooms, great restaurants onsite. Modern bar/ lounge on the main floor. There are six elevators which means a short wait and minimal crowding. We had a horrible experience taking the Greyhound on the way and mentioned that to the Front Desk person. He was fantastic and sent a complimentary bottle of wine to our room. Top notch service! We stayed here to see a Blue Jay's game and bumped into several of the Toronto Blue Jays players! Really great experience at a lovely hotel. I will absolutely stay here every time I visit Detroit.

We used the Westin Grand Suite for a special outing, and it provided us with a spacious gathering place, along with multiple magnificent views of Downtown Detroit. The lobby staff and valet were friendly and accommodating. However, the luggage trolleys were hard to come by. We had a vehicle parked near the valet that waited 30 minutes for assistance. Then upon trying to check-out, we called the front-desk twice for the trolleys within about an hour, eventually gave up and decided to just carry the luggage down ourselves. To be fair, this was during a busy weekend, with 2 afternoon Tigers games and a Lions pre-season game. If you’re parking or dropping off, take note that this hotel has convenient access points on Michigan Ave and Washington Blvd.

The rooms are HUGE and come with a nice white robe for use during your stay. The bathrooms are big enough to park a few motorcycles in, and the building is a block away from a couple Coney dog restaurants and some other shopping boutiques. The bar is fully equipped and the staff is abundantly helpful.

Beautiful storied hotel with a remarkable history and like Detroit has risen from the ashes - beautiful large rooms that are well appointed and comfortable. Westin beds as always are top of the class for comfort. Relatively quiet though as in so many hotels, the doors slamming at all hours is the only downside: why can't hotels install soft close doors???
