We love Milner's, a locally-owned restaurant that offers the best of modern Southern cooking. Many, many notches above "home" or "soul" or the Greek "meat and two," everything is fresh, locally sourced, carefully and imaginatively prepared and never greasy. The atmosphere is pleasant, acoustics are good, decor is attractive without being obtrusive. The bar is cozy and separate. No TVs looming over diners. The staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. I have a well-behaved, but obviously handicapped grown daughter. I love being able to take her for a nice meal without getting the hairy eyeball from a snotty or ignorant staff. The Milner's folks treat her the way she wants to be treated: Just like anybody else. A meal for two (sans alcohol) is about $40 to $60 with tip, more with starters/dessert, in line with most nicer restaurants in Winston Salem.

The atmosphere was very pleasant. I appreciated the curtains around our booth offering a little privacy from the other tables. Our food was delicious, and our server was very knowledgeable and experienced.

Everyone in party of 8 chose a different meal and all said "delicious". Great service from wait person also. Reasonable prices. We approve!

great food, great service & great atmosphere! two of our sons work there - in the kitchen - it was great having them prepare & cook a meal for us for a change! i really love this place!

My wife and I came here and had one of our best dates in the 13 years we've been dating. The service was good, the menu variety was great, and the food was exceptional. The environment was perfect for a date.
