Have loved this place for many, many years. But this year changed that! Staff had no respect for paying customer. One, even called my adult daughter a liar, when she told them there was a mouse in our cabin! We set traps and caught 5 mice in one night. Took a pic and showed the clerk and left the mice for housekeeping to dispose of. I know this is not the Ritz Carlton or Hotel Del but I do expect respect! Staff was so very uptight with the granddaughters( ages 7, 11 and 12).My daughter or I would not have allowed the girls to do anything damaging or disrespectful! If we wanted to sleep with critters, we would have camped instead of getting a cabin.we are always so happy to go to Monument Lake and sad to leave, but not this time! Will probably never recommend this to people again.

Monument Lake has always been one of our favorite places to stay. This was however the first time we stayed in a cabin and our last. Our cabin was flooded with water at 12am, due to an overflowing toilet. We were literally bailing water out of the room to save our electronics, clothes, etc., and in an attempt to mitigate damage to the room. There was no one available to switch us to another cabin, so we were stuck in that room filled with toilet water. When I went to the office that morning, I felt we were treated with indifference, as the employee acted as if it was our problem to deal with. We work hard at our jobs and this was supposed to be a relaxing getaway for our family. We were instead dealing with their plumbing issues! It's one thing having to stay in a flooded room but quite the other to not be accommodated in any way. Horrible customer service!!

My wife and I spent two nights here and the cabin was nice (basically a stand alone motel room), staff friendly, the trout fishing great, and the mountain air and views were very refreshing! We are going back this summer to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary!

DO NOT LET THE SITE FOOL YOU! Unless you are staying in your camper, or just going for the day to fish, STAY AWAY! This place is run down and filthy! DISGUSTING! I wouldn't even recommend to my enemy! GROSS!!

Camping at the Monument Lake Resort was very disappointing. We had reserved a site for a three night stay. We were told that the camp site would accommodate a 40 foot camper, which was a joke. We have a 28 foot RV and it would not fit. When we went back to talk to the clerk, she stated that she could not understand why we didn't fit. Yeah, right! They finally moved us to another site two sites down for two nights and we would have to move the last night. The sites are horrible. You are literally up on your neighbor. You will be lucky if your awning doesn't hit the trailer next to you. You really don't have enough room to park your vehicle. Also, if you have full hook-ups they charge $29 a night. If you have partial they charge you $25 a night and another $5 if you dump. So, you are really paying more for not having full hook ups. The dump site is on an uphill grade and you cannot dump. You would not be level so, you would not be able to really dump. The only access for a large vehicle is a downgrade, so it is impossible to dump. They do provide a bath house for bathrooms and showers, which is good. But this is the only good part for the whole place. We will never go back to his place again. We were very disappointed.
