This was our third visit to the area. Our second stay at Skyline Lodge. If I could move up to this area I would do it in a heartbeat! Both of our stays have been nothing but WONDERFUL. The beauty of the area never fails to put me in awe. The cabins are rustic/chic and the fact that there isn't any cell/ internet service was an added plus. Furnishings are an eclectic mix but very comfortable. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and there is always plenty of firewood available for guests. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great ideas and directions for day trips. They always treat us like family. I highly recommend staying at the Skyline Lodge

They have cabins, a gift shop, and a restaurant that serves the typical burgers and fries menu including a burger challenge you can have for free if eaten within a certain amount of time. The cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. The staff behind the desk were a little rough are the edges and not the typical over hospital kind you'd find in a chain hotel. They were kind and accommodating but we felt like the mentality was "if you don't like what we offer then you can go some else and we don't care". We were confused by the shirts worn by staff implying that the customers they serve are idiots. Maybe we misunderstood and it was a joke everyone else got but we felt it was condescending. With no competition you don't really have a choice located way up in the mountains but for what it's worth we had a good time and would go back. Just don't show up expecting to be treated like royalty.

Would like to say thanks to the owners of Skyline Lodge. On Sunday they took in about 100 off roader and feed all of us. The service was good and so was the grub. Will be going back sometime to stay longer.

To write this review I had to give it at least a star. Believe me I wish I could give negative stars. I made reservations a couple weeks ago to take my sister, niece and nephew to platoro. Everyone was so excited to go on a family vacation. I made the reservations on June 22. On June 27th my 10 year old niece had an accident on her horse. On July 6th my niece passed away due to her brain injury. My mother contacted skyline to let them know we would not be coming and told them why. They refused to refund the $500 deposit. I emailed them on Thursday and still to this day have not received a response. I just called to speak to the owner and they would not talk to me. Another staff member told me they would not be refunding the deposit and they still might charge me the remaining balance. Believe me I would rather be in platoro right now then planning my nieces funeral. These people have no heart, I pray they never experience this kind of pain. I hope nobody ever treats them in the poor manner they have treated me and my family. These people disgust me.
