The beach is currently "flooded," but my husband and I wanted to check out the boat launch. We stopped at the booth today to get in and asked if there was a military discount. The attendant asked my husband if he was really in the military. Yes, we're really in the military, active duty. They told us we needed a national parks card to get in. I pulled my Military annual pass out of my wallet and my husband handed it to the attendant. The attendant looked at me and said I'm not allowed to carry it. My signature is on the back of the card, I'm my husband's dependent. Very irritating. Just be warned if you're military, they are NOT military friendly here. Make sure to bring your military annual pass, but even if you do have it, they won't believe you should have one in he first place and will treat you like a thief. Very rude attendants.

Absolutely love this beach! It is disappointing that due to the WEATHER, it has been closed longer than normal. A lot of reviews are complaining about the website not saying the beach is closed, then leaving poor reviews. Or people not checking first, driving down there, and it is closed. It does post it on it's actual website. Not only does it, but it is at the very top, in red. I'm assuming they are just googling it and not actually clicking on the site. Terrible that people give low reviews for their own lack of effort. This beach is very clean & family friendly. A true gem in the Ozarks! Just had to leave a positive review considering how many low ones it has received recently that are of no fault of the parks own.

Wow this place was so much fun! We had a blast. Was closed by 8pm and we got there at 6pm was kinda sad but 2 hrs were fun.

Love this place. Great place for the whole family. Enough space to enjoy the beach without being to crowded.

Beautiful scenery and only place in the metro area with sand. Definitely a family friendly place. Worth the $5 admission per vehicle forsure!
