The outside of the property looked nice. The lobby and the rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. Our bedding smelled as if we were sleeping in an ash tray. We are not smokers. It was hard to even walk near the lobby without becoming overtaken by the strong smell. The sink in our room would not drain and was not clean. We asked to have it fixed and it wasn't and no attempt to move rooms or amend the situation took place even though the place was nearly empty. The shower was filthy and the only clean place in the shower was the spot where the soap had been previously placed. There is no value in staying in an inexpensive motel if the place is unsanitary. We have had good experiences at Motel 6 in the past.

When I walked in to check into a room I was greeted at the front desk by a very nice girl, Shanna I believe was her name. She was super friendly and accommodated all my needs for a room that night. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I was coming from out of town to get a cheap hotel that I could crash the nights in, and there was a little blonde girl, i think it was Hannah; it was her second day and she checked me in, and made me fell very welcomed. All the staff is so nice. Would recommend to anyone who loves great customer service.

I rented a room here for two nights because it was the most cost-effective motel in Rapid City. I should have known better; my stay at this hotel was miserable. After asking for a room facing away from I-90, my room faced it directly. The bed was rock-hard and there were no basic expectations for a hotel, such as soap. If you want a cheap room and nothing more, this is the place. If you want a hotel that you can return to at night and enjoy your purchase, avoid Motel 6 Rapid City.

Lost item not returned! - I called shortly after our stay and informed the clerk that I had left behind my phone charger, clerk took my name and number, and next day, a Manager called, asked me for my credit card # so she could ship the charger to me. Now been two weeks, no charger still. So I call, now the charger is nowhere to be found? Why was I called for my credit card to ship it to me? If they didn't have it. Low budget, low service... you truly get what you pay for here...
