Mount Tam is absolutely breathtaking. What an unexpected surprise in such close proximity to San Francisco. The hike isn't difficult and it weaves through forest and the hills. You get to see a bunch of different terrains in one hike. It's a beautiful hike and everyone should do it! Parking can be tricky, especially on weekends but you can get lucky sometimes. You can also take a walk on the beach after your hike at this small seaside town.

One one my favorite place to go to enjoy the outdoors. Trails are well maintained and there is a trail for every skill level. Redwoods, open fields, and great views of the beaches and ocean. Some trails are very steep with stairs so be aware what the trail is like before you go. There are a lot of really good trails that are flat as well. There are parking lots, which fill fast and bathrooms in places.

I always love hiking on Mt. Tam. On so many of the trails, you're bound to run into a waterfall of some sort, especially if you stay under the tree canopy. And the meadows and clearings typically offer amazing ocean views. The only downside is SO many people! This is not a place you go if you're looking for peace and serenity. But it is lovely and quite accessible.

Beautiful views from the mountain tops down to the beach. Trails are in great shape. Camping is affordable and all the sites were in good condition. Great spot to bring the family, even the dogs. Highly recommend exploring this area.

We live in the bay area and took us about 1.5 hour to drive there. It's a great place to visit, especially the East Peak, around the Fire Lookout. The view is spectacular at the highest point 2571 ft, 784 meter. Wear good sports shoes for hiking on the trails. The 0.7 mile rocky road to the highest peak is quite uneven you need to walk through it. You can easily find parking around there and need self registration payment. about $8. I shared the details in youishare.
