We have fallen in love with the MHM! In fact my family is there again today with friends after going twice in the past two weeks! My kids love it all, the little ones love playing History Clubhouse, but have done well looking at other exhibits. My 6 year old loves everything about it, from playing in the clubhouse to going through the World's Fair and to going through the special 50-70's toys exhibit she could spend the entire day and not get board!

Call this the St. Louis History Museum. Not generally of or about MO-state. There is an effort to appeal to children and their guardians be it parents or teachers or some troupe of Boy or Girl Scouts. A lot public and some private money went into this museum. The spaces are airy and bright, yet well secured and ventilated. You see, I compare the current offerings in the St. Louis City Zoo-Museum district to what was. The Oak Knoll park (now closed) Museum of Science and Natural History was a superior, if smaller, museum of mostly static displays. So, as good as St. Louis gets. Let's hope the execs that administer the Zoo-Museum district operate corruption free as they have through the 2010s with the fiascos at the Science Center.

I can't tell you the last time I was here, before this most recent visit. I was not disappointed thought! Plenty to see, learn and experience! The 1904 World's fair exhibit was so interesting and eye-opening when it comes to STL history amd architecture. We went on a warm weekend, that also happened to be the day some local boy scouts were visiting too, so it was a little crowded, but not unbearable. Can't wait to see what other exhibits are coming!

A perfect place to spend a rainy day with the family! The exhibits are always changing so there is never a lack of new and exciting things to see and learn about. There is also a children's area that all young children will love. A MUST SEE for a history buff in Saint Louis! It's also FREE!
