Great park. Spent 4 night there and had a blast. We were down to get some warm weather and last beach trip. The weather there was great and the park was super. The beaches are a typical east coast beach but they were clean and well cared for. All park employees were great to work with, all had smiles even when working the holiday.

Great beach access from the campground. Easy biking or short drive to mall across the road. Airport is a mile away if you like planes and helicopters. Loop 6 (300s are the quietest sites) but furthest from the beach. Some jellies in the water, didn't see any copperheads this time around. Take a stroll or fish of the pier for a small fee. The volunteers in the yellow shirts like John who keep the park clean and tidy will tell you everything you need to know.

Excellent place to unwind. Enjoy the beach, fishing off the pier or hiking the trails. Camping here is an enjoyable experience. To ensure a good morning after your slumber, make sure to secure your coolers or the local wildlife could enjoy your breakfast before you awaken. The raccoons like to stay well fed. Bring bug spray if you're walking the trails.

First, if you expect fresh sheets and towels. This is not the place for you. We LOVE this camp ground! We camp in a tent. For a family of 4 to stay at the beach for a weekend for under $100 is amazing! Try to get a site near the beach. Won't have to drive and not a very long walk. Wifi doesn't work unless your camping near the office or campground store. But nice to use while you wash clothes or wait on family in the showers. Bathrooms near the store are the nicer of the whole camp ground. There's several play grounds for kids. They also have a nature center there, which is great check out before you leave head home (or any time) Love that the park has a pier, so if you're camping you won't have to pay to access it. There's police who patrols at night. Was kinda annoying to hear them drive slow at night, but did put our mind at ease to know they were there keeping an eye out. Also, you get used to the airplanes and helicopters that fly over during the day. Kids loved sit on the beach and watch them pass over us. We didn't really leave the park.it's self except to go to the grocery store (food lion 5 minutes up the road!) and to visit the sister Park, Huntington Beach State Park, see the alligators. And visit the nature center they had there (sadly, it recently burned down 😢) If you're on a budget and want to be at the beach. This is the place, no golf carts with wild kids, no drinking, no loud music. Perfect place for our vacations! Can't wait be back in 2 weeks!

It's as wonderful as I remember it when I was a kid. The cabins are 80 years old, but they are updated and have everything you need for a week. The best kept secret in Myrtle Beach. Camping / cabins are the way to go, you have as private of a beach as you can possibly get in the area. I cannot recommend this park enough.
