I love national car rental and I'm a loyal member that rents cars frequently.  Unfortunately, I had a canceled flight and I needed to return the rental car to another location.  I was told it would be an additional $500+. I couldn't understand that fee since it is only $135 for me to rent a new car one way to the new destination.  Very disappointing and unnecessary inconvenience.  Not happy at all.

Amazing customer service! That goes a long way for me because it's a rarity these days. Amecia is awesome, was very professional,  and got me in my rental fast. The Van was brand new and spotless. Perfect for us DHigh Football Moms to travel to Mobile to watch our guys play. Thanks again Amecia Murphy! See you next time!

First let me be clear that the customer service at the counter is always excellent. Friendly and helpful. I am a loyal renter at National, and rent a car twice a month. Even though their prices aren't very good sometimes, I try to remain loyal to the company. Until now. When I returned the car this latest time, I forgot to put gas in it (it had about a half tank). A couple hours later I realized my error and called to let them know. 4 days later there is a charge on my card for nearly 3 times what it would cost to fill the tank of the car from empty. I called and asked why so much and they, CAN'T EXPLAIN why the charge was so high. WHAT??? Someone obviously drove it before filling it up! 😠 That's criminal, I don't know how they get away with it. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. They're not the cheapest, after all.
