Beautiful, well maintained, nice gift shop. None of the other attractions were open due to the fact that it was winter and late in the afternoon. My only complaint is that dogs are not allowed past the first plaza. We were traveling with our dog and one of us had to stand outside while the other went in to see the memorial. It would have been nice to experience it together.

I have wanted to visit Mt. Rushmore since I was young. We were there in October and it wasn't too busy. Watched the video of how the sculptures were created and I just have to give credit to those men. How they were able to use dynamite and to such precise measurements, wow! Truly amazing. We walked around the trail also. Great views where you can see them closer. As a veteran, wished I'd been there in the summer. Bet that is powerful.

Mount Rushmore was very neat and well-maintained despite visiting in the off season. The entrance fee was reasonable and is good for the rest of the calendar year! The little restaurant was delicious and even had dessert! The ranger was super kind and informative and the museum provided excellent information. It was a pleasant visit and great photo opportunity!

Very interesting place to see. My first time out west (originally from Ohio). Loved the small towns in the area (especially Custer) everyone was so nice and friendly). We have been back to South Dakota twice in the past two years on our way to Texas (the long way). Would love to move here!!

When you get there, you park after paying a $10 car fee. You navigate your way up some steps, then find yourself in front of pillars before an information center awaits you. There is a big bust of a man, and then down a long walkway you go with the American state flags above you. Then it's there. You could see it before from the car as you came in and you've seen pictures, and when you come up to the wall that guards you from falling, your eyes look up the mountain and see four faces. The entire thing looks like a 2D cutout, but it's real. It's so very real, and so very awe-inspiring. There are binoculars that you can pay for with plaques all over. It's incredible, put this on your bucket list.
