My girlfriend and I were very excited for the NYE prix fixe menu, and arrived ready to experience Nixta for the first time. We had heard so many great things about it, and the fact that the NYE menu was really affordable was a big plus. It was incredibly cold that evening, with temperatures in the negatives, so as we arrived we were looking forward to some respite inside the restaurant. As we took off our coats and layers, though, we realized that things weren't much different inside. As we looked around, we noticed that many of the other guests already eating were still in their hats and coats, and even some of the staff were wearing scarves and hats. This isn't a review of the food or service (it was excellent!), but the cold temp inside made it very difficult to enjoy our experience. We were looking forward to a fun start to NYE, and it was unfortunate that our first experience was such an uncomfortable one! TL;DR - Food/service was great, temperature was not.

Such a great food experience! A monthly rotating menu puts focus on the food and it shows! The mole here is awesome, on braised short ribs its even better. The tamale pie is something so unique and delicious it stole the spotlight. Home-fried tortillas chips are great. Go here! For cocktails I felt were a little pricey but crafted perfectly. Recommend making reservations.

Our first time here was amazing. Our last time, since they switched executive chefs was a huge disappointment. The quality and service have both plummeted. Unique fresh tortillas have been replaced by bland reproductions. Intriguing desserts have become haphazardly thrown together. The mole sauce tasted like it was made in one day, not three. This is so sad because Nixta was helping put STL on the map. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Best food experience in STL in a while. Really happy with this addition. My wife and I just stopped here on a whim while back in town and we're so happy we did. The dishes were so well executed, beautiful garnish and exceptional depth of flavor. With every bite we were taken. We've told everyone they should try it. Well done!

It was freezing there,as they lost power last night. They made up for it with warm service and great food.
