WORST POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, AND POSSIBLY THE COUNTRY, THE FIRST REVIEW I HAVE EVER LEFT IN MY LIFE. Incompetent, Unprofessional, Unethical, a Mockery, A disgrace. Unconstitutional. Words in the English Language can not describe the depths of profound insult this department treats teens, children and Rape Victims , domestic violence victims with. Will take 5 years and longer to ever investigate a rape case. I hope one day Governor Rick Scott fines multiple penalties and perhaps a class action civil lawsuit for these tyrants. I deeply, deeply feel profound sorrow for the citizens of North Port.

I called the non emergency line to report that I had just ended a phone conversation with a man who said he was going to " come to my house and beat my head in with a baseball bat." and then told me " don't forget I know where your kids go to school." All because I inquired about money he owed me from over paying for daycare. This was not a random person, the guy use to own the daycare my children attend so he does have access to my home address, he knows where I work, and he does know where my children attend daycare. I felt like my fears and report were not taken seriously at all. The officer asked for the phone number that the guy had called and texted me on. The last time this guy texted me was 9:19am, the officer told me he was going to call the guy and then would call me back. The officer called me back around 9:40 and informed me that number said disconnected when he called it. The officer's tone of voice implied that I was making it the whole situation up. The officer informed me that all he could do was write a report and note what I had told him. I was told that there was nothing further he could do, to call back if the guy showed up at my house. Seriously?!? If this guy did show up at my house or worse, my kids school, how long would it of taken an officer to get there and prevent this man from following through with his threats? Shouldn't something be done before the guy is able to follow through with his threat?

This department is a joke. Had my wallet taken at a gas station while on vacation and left stranded. Station full of cameras and all I needed was this department to ask the store to pull the video tape for the mans tag number who picked it up. They couldn't be bothered. No return calls. Said they bumped it up to a stolen. Lots of good that did three weeks later and the store still hasn't gotten a call. Professional meter maids over here driving expensive new cars. Thanks a lot

My husband and I were directed and treated very nice during hurricane Imra. Thanks to all emergency personnel and volunteers. God bless

Horrible and the most unprofessional department of serve and protect that I have personally ever encountered! Was in U.S. Air Force in CA. From Indiana and many areas in between. Very amateur in their training.....absolute disgraceful in the way no one is in shape and tax payers is a waste of money!
