Story

Ever since I was in grade school, I have been enamored with bicycles. The first bike I bought was a bright red, single-speed bike with “balloon” tires. I added big wire baskets so I could deliver the thick editions of the Sunday newspaper around my paper route. Later, I traded that bike for my first ten speed. I rode through the countryside to little neighboring farming towns and back. I remember taking an old three-speed English bicycle apart; re-painting it and reassembling it. By the way, the paint job looked like a kid had done it! Whether it was “tinkering” on a bicycle or feeling the breeze against my cheeks as I rode along somewhere, anywhere – I was in my element!
