I pulled into the Orinda Station to park at 9:55 this morning, hoping to get a spot in the permit area. A BART policewoman was ticketing people like me if we parked before 10:00. So I waited until 10:00, but had to take a later train. It surprises me that BART police don't have better things to do than harass BART patrons for parking 5 minutes before the cut-off, particularly given the recent increase in crime on BART.

The best way for the carless to get into Orinda. From here you can take the infrequent Lamorinda bus.

Conveniently located by highway 24, this Bart station is one of the better ones. One can feel safe, although I parked my car here and someone managed to go under it and steal a very important part. Where's the Bart police when you need them? Isn't anyone keeping watch of the parking lot? Guess not. Other than that it's one of my favorite stations.

I just got on the Bart at Orinda and my Bart train driver is a saint. I knew I left work a little late, but I ran as fast as I could the entire three blocks to the station. Thinking I would still have to wait for the train I slowed down a bit just as I was walking under the freeway overpass only to have the Twain arrive early. I sprinted in the station and up the stairs and the train doors closed... The driver looked out his window and saw that I was exhausted and about to cry... So he opened the doors for me. I was the only one standing there and if he had left me there would have been no upset mob or violent riot. He showed me a small kindness and I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I don't know how to contact Bart to properly commend him. So I hope this gets to him (or her not really sure... It was far away)
