Outpatient program is a joke. Lady who runs it is very sweet, but extremely redundant. Says the same things everyday that just didn't reach or resonate with me. I attended for 3 weeks and was discharged with no explanation. I left the program feeling the same if not worse. Only pros of this program were the people in the group with me and Thursdays. Thursdays were activity day. A really great counselor there, Greg, ran these days. He was amazing and the things he said actually impacted me and stayed with me. Other than that, the program is not worth your time or money.

this place was one of the best places i could have ever gone for help. the staff was helpful and sweet. the food was not greasy it was great. for all of you haters out there dont judge this facility to u have been in it

This is a medical facility no one wants to be here, but it does help. I spent 6 days voluntary and other than being a very bare environment, I adjusted and participated. The nursing staff for the most part was fantastic, they were always there to listen and explain. The doctors were a bit short with "bedside" activity, but it's to be expected when the medical industry just looks at patients as a number. I'm certain the treatment looks different in each ward, section, area.... I think I was in 4. It was a very rough time getting there, but I'm glad I did. If you or a loved one needs mental health treatment, no place is going to be appealing. Palmetto Lowcountry is there to help.

I would give less than no stars if I could. My cousin recently spent a few days here, and upon visitation (one hour) I was exposed to how things work in unit 7. I witnessed patients being harshly scolded for talking to eachother, and for asking to brush their teeth after snack. The staff is horrible, and frankly does not care. They are there to get their pay check and go home. All they do is scream and yell. The personal hygiene products provided were cheap and very low quality. You have to ask to use the restroom and 9/10 you are told no. The bathrooms are disgusting. The whole place spells and is unclean. I never once saw anyone clean, and neither did my cousin as they were there for four days. The patience would offer to sweep and mop because of the horrible conditions and were told that it was a safety hazard to have a broom in the same room with them. It was either freezing cold or hot as hell at all times. All they did was watch cartoons all day and lay in HARD bench like beds all night. The doctor never once contacted the family. No staff talked to the family until they were demanded to contact my aunt and give her information. Group therapy was useless and there was never any one-on-one time with patience and therapy. This place does not help anyone. It is over all horrible, disgusting, and useless. DO NOT SEND LOVED ONES HERE. No one deserves this treatment.

Very unprofessional no knowledge of mental health ! Becareful and don’t be scammed! They will try to drag you in either for outpatient or inpatient treatment and they talk more about money and insurance instead of well-being in the steps recovery on someone’s in distress about their well-being that’s the last thing they should talk about or that shouldn’t be the first thing that should be talked about ! These people they’re just want to make money off of sick people that’s reason why they’re so disrespectful the staff are very ignorant and the receptionist have no knowledge and experience whatsoever want to comes to mental health the meaning and the proper terminology that use in therapy ! Sadly in the south people mental ill are 2nd class anyways but it doesn’t give them more of a leverage to be so disrespectful to those who are sick who are really trying to get help ! Please save your money and time and go somewhere where people care and who will not degrade you because you have a mental illness! Honestly wish to give negative stars but in this case I have to only get one star ! how dare they call themselves medical Fessional‘s if they’re not punctual on time and not very clear on how they speak and also just straight out want your insurance information and financial information over the phone that shouldnt be done over the phone – should be done in person that thing is I didn’t even step my feet into the door and to the place yet and they want the information that sounds pretty sketchy to me !
