We got our puppy, a Papillon from here about eight months ago now. I waited to write my review to give everyone a fully objective long-term review of our experience. Essex was very healthy when we brought her home at four months old and management at the store was wonderful to work with. The staff was very knowledgeable and made sure we had everything we needed to care for her. 

Yes, these dogs are bred on puppy farms. That’s what pet stores typically have and offer. The information in the records is presented to you for the dogs. I’m disabled and was prescribed a dog to help with some of the emotional side effects of my chronic pain condition. Part of that meant needing to know exactly what breed we were getting to know if she could handle that purpose and being in an apartment—and also being able to adopt a younger dog for training purposes. Petland allowed us both of these things. That doesn’t mean it’s for everyone and that’s okay. 

Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and my dog will be a year old this weekend. Essex is the light of my life and I love her dearly. The staff treated us well and clearly cared for Essex and missed her when I went to bring her home.

They usually have whatever I need and the fish selection is large. Gals are always friendly but omg your hours suck. I'd stay open until 10 AT LEAST each day! This town is acting like there is a zombie apocalypse

I went there tonight and the staff was very nice ,respectful as well as helpful in many ways I really enjoyed my experience there and would recommend it to many people I would also go back there and get more pets from them thank you so much

Saturday, 2 days ago, I got a guinea pig from the store and he was sneezing and the next morning there was discharge coming out of his nose, after a $50 vet bill (he was $60) we get told that they wont do anything about it because hes not dead. Im so glad that theu care about the health of the animals that they are selling out to families.

This is a smaller pet store than a Petco or Petland, but they have a nice selection for standard and exotic pets.  The staff is friendly and there has never been much of a wait to check out.  I wish they offered adoption services instead of pets for sale, but that's not really something to take up with the local folks.
