I used to love coming here in the past, but I'm not so sure I ever want to come back to this location. The last few times I've been in, the staff has been incredibly rude to customers, especially those trying to sell. I had recently brought in a bag of gently used name brand fall clothing (which they stated they were purchasing). A lot of previous reviews state that staff does not even go through bags of clothing that you are trying to sell, and I can confirm this is true. The first couple of things on the top of my bag were folded differently and in a different order, but the rest were folded in the same way and order as I brought it in. I was also told that my fall clothing was not "trendy enough" (which I have no issue with). I brought in pea coats, puffy vests, jeans, and scarves that most can agree are classic staples for fall. They said they can only take things 6 months old at the very oldest. Most of my stuff was that new, so I don't know what their formula is for figuring out if something is that recent or not. The staff they have been hiring need to be retrained on customer service for sure. Will not be back.

I shopped at the Plato’s Closet in East Lansing for years and never waited more than 30 minutes to sell clothes. I always seemed to walk out with at least $75-$125 when I brought in a basket or two of decently name brand items (AE, Abercrombie, Hollister, etc). I always found cute things to buy as well! However, the location in Ann Arbor is extremely unimpressive. Half of the employees seem SUPER stressed out every time I go in there (lots of attitude) and on several occasions I’ve witnessed not just my own bags of clothes literally being thrown into piles on the floor. I understand they are busy, but it’s very unprofessional. I never find anything I want to buy, as they have an overwhelming about of cheap brands like Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, etc. The wait time to sell clothing is at LEAST an hour, if not two. Lastly, once they do go through items, they seem to offer around $2-$3 for each piece. And the items they don’t take, they try to give you an “era” they think it’s from. Example, I had a brand new pair of UGG boots that were purchased in 2015 - she mentioned they were from the “2012” era and were too old. It’s just not worth it. I’d rather donate or spend the extra time and sell on Facebook groups or eBay. Update: Just sold the UGG boots they claimed to be “too outdated” above for $65 + shipping within an hour of being on eBay.

-Worst experience. -Extremely unprofessional. -Took two hours to go through 1 bag (about 30 items of clothes in extremely good condition.) -Didn't even do their job correctly. - Took only two items and got $6.30. Never again.

I’m shocked by some of these comments. Have always had great experience with buying/selling and staff.

Buying is the better part of this store, selling is nearly impossible. Selection is usually pretty good if you're willing to look through it, but prices have gone up over the years. The staff seems to change often and they are not the most helpful.
