Nice store and great online experience. We really like the quality of the products they sell. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is their promotions and coupon offers are all over the place and frankly a confusing mess. They definitely need more consistency.

On a Wednesday afternoon I found out I needed an outdoor bench cushion by Friday morning and I couldn't find anything on the Internet that was either reasonably priced or available for a week or so. Target had nothing in their stores and Kohl's didn't have the size I needed. Somehow or another, Plow & Hearth came up in a search. I called and spoke to Amie, describing my predicament and needs. She took a moment and told me they had what I needed. On the 20-minute drive over, I called again to confirm that I was going to the right location. The person I spoke to assured me that I was and even took the time to give me explicit directions to the store. When I got there, I met Amie who took me right to the cushions and pulled the best match for the size I needed. When we got to the cash register, she found a coupon that I could use for that purchase that saved me about 20%.
I have heard about Plow & Hearth, but had never been there before. I know some people might have different experiences than mine, but for me, this was a great example of excellent customer service from the initial contact all the way through the checkout. I didn't have a chance to really look around, but it did seem to be a place I'd like to come back and explore. Thanks to the experience I had today, I most definitely will.

Do not recommend. My mom ordered and paid for a couple sets of curtains at this store, to be delivered to our house. One valance was delivered, and then nothing for a couple weeks. When she called, they told her that the remaining curtains were out of stock and could not be delivered for months. The Richmond store should not have sold them to us... Or if they genuinely didn't know the stocking situation, they need a better inventory system. My mom canceled the order, but we still had to to return the valance. I went into the store and explained the situation, that we had been sold curtains we couldn't actually get, and needed to return the one we had received. Instead of being apologetic or sympathetic, the employee corrected me on my pronunciation of the word "valance" and said, "I think people should be corrected when they say something wrong, don't you?" Terrible service on both the corporate and store level...ugh.
