I would not return here if my life depended on it. They are beyond rude. I waited over two hours for a urine test for a UTI. Literally I could’ve bought the strips from cvs and done it myself in less than 5 minutes. When I asked what could be taking so long for a strip urine test, they called security on me. I also suffered a miscarriage here after being sent home twice being told there was nothing wrong. When I returned, having to bring my lost child with me, in tears and screaming from labor pain the nurse said “well this should be fun” and rolled her eyes. I have never been treated worse at any hospital in MI, and have had lawyers contact me about the treatment I received. We are pregnant again and I would rather drive to Ann Arbor even though I’m only ten minutes from this hospital. If you are a young mother or pregnant- DO NOT RISK COMING HERE.

Regarding labor and delivery| Pros: nurses were nice, but that's about it. Cons: 1. they are extremely understaffed! 2. if you are there for induction, they have high rates of c sections because they rush to break your water, and leave no choice but to have an emergency c section after hours of it being ruptured. They admitted to this when I refused them breaking my water. Then next morning said "thank god you didn't let us, because it would have resulted in a c section" considering I hadn't progressed. 3. Regardless of how many times I told them to do delayed chord clamping, he cut the chord immediately anyways! And said it was "done pulsing" NO. It wasn't, it takes 2-5 minutes to finish transferring blood. Not 2 seconds after coming out of me! 4. They only checked up on my baby 1 time after he was born! (When the pediatrician came) At Trenton southshore they constantly came to check Baby when I went there with my first. 5. They didn't check up on me often either. After I gave birth, it felt like they thought me and baby should be on our own now. Never came in to make sure we were okay. 6.my son left the hospital having jaundice , a high level 16.5 . He was never treated with light therapy , so now weeks later he is still yellow and has to keep getting poked in the foot and have his blood drawn to keep tabs on it. It should have been treated before leaving. They said it's because they don't have a nicu. If you are high risk, or have any feeling of complications that might occur, please do not go here! For your baby's sake. Go somewhere else. This hospital is old, run down, and dangerous honestly. When it comes to bringing your baby into the world, take them to the best of the best.
