About

We are the official page for Raccoon Creek State Park and the Wildflower Reserve Interpretive Center, PA Bureau of State Parks.

Story

Raccoon Creek State Park has continued to develop from the park’s beginning as a Recreational Demonstration Area operated by the National Park Service in the 1930s, to one of the largest and most beautiful state parks in Pennsylvania. Facilities at the park are a mix from the early Civilian Conservation Corps camp to modern facilities. In addition to recreational areas, there are large tracts of undeveloped land. The 7,572-acre park features the beautiful 101-acre Raccoon Lake, the famous Wildflower Reserve, the historic Frankfort Mineral Springs, and 44 miles of scenic trails.

Nice trail to Frankfurt Mineral Springs. Waterfall flows in winter and spring. Nice trails behind Wildflower Preserve. They also have kayak rentals and swimming on the lake. The lake is usually pretty busy.

Love this place! Great hiking trails for all levels. Many access points to start and finish. Great for walking your pets. The lake is always a nice place to visit. From renting canoes to throwing in your own kayak. Fishing is always fun and enjoyable. Trout season can be busy but after the first weekend it's not bad. There is so much from picnic areas, camping, fishing, swimming and trails to walk.

Great place to go hiking. It's a little bit tougher of a hike. Especially if you go in the spring time. It starts to get a little muddy and bushy once the rain starts and everything begins to grow. It's still an amazing place though with a lot of great sights and beautiful views.
