My mother has been here for a few weeks and received amazing care. The nurses have been very encouraging and she improved everyday. She is getting ready to be discharged tmrw and the nurses have been coming in to say good bye. Very sweet. The food isn’t great but otherwise great care here.
My moms recovery was fast. The OT and PT as well as the case manager walked me threw step by step how to care for my mom when she got home. These ladies are the best of the best. The nurses and CNA was very patient and professional with my mom. I have no complaints 10 out of 10!!!!!
Our father was recently admitted after having a stroke. The nursing and therapy teams were all excellent. He made significant progress during his stay thanks to their care and support. Highly recommend.
Outstanding care. Had PT and ot 3 hours/day. Staff was friendly, positive, and most important totally competent. That was the highlight of my stay. Food not so good. Nursing assistants and nurses were attentive, answered questions, and knew what they were doing. I especially valued working with Jenna and Bob,, also Alan.
I would to express the thanks and gratitude for all the staff at RHRI in North Smithfield. It may be a small facility but the care is phenomenal. Tracy, PT Manager is so great to work with getting the equipment my son needed and checking on him. My thanks also go out to Matt and Jenna in PT and to Bob and Linda in OT. They were great, caring compassionate. Linda was so great showing my son on one of his first days he could do many things without a struggle. Matt and Jenna helped my son with PT exercises and to help him stand and eventually to take steps. Bob was so patient showing my son daily routine activities. There are so many to name in the nursing dept all compassionate and caring from Petra, Laurie, Aminetta, Brenda, Catherine, Denise and anyone I missed. CNA Laura who would always pop in to see him even if he wasn’t her patient always helpful and smiling making him feel Comfortable. Daniella for her sweetness and kindness always helpful. Scott who always helped when needed. Alicia was so personable helping us pack on discharge making the transition so easy. Denise was always there to help when needed. I just want to thank you all from the administration staff to the nurses to the CNA’s and therapist for the great care my son received during his stay. Can’t forget Ed maintenance who was always smiling and being so helpful. The only downside was the food it wasn’t that good. I would definitely recommend RHRI for therapy if you need a facility .
Giving 1star because of procedures not the staff. But when your loved one is there for help and your starting discharge planning not even 24hrs after admitting it makes you feel that patient care is not a priority. That said the staff here is top notch and I have nothing but thanks for them. Maybe you should start calling it health service and not health care
I had a very good experience at the rehabilitation. I loved all the nurses and nurses aid’s. Everyone was very friendly and so nice and very patient with me. When my discharge day came, Part of me wanted to stay. I enjoyed the pt with Mark he was very passionate, and patient with me. And I also enjoyed the exercise class with Donna. My ot was great to with Claudine and Linda. They were so professional, and kind. I just loved everything about the rehab and if something happens and I need rehab I differently go to you people!! Some of my nurses I want to give credit to and I’m probably forgetting someone and I’m sorry if I did. Charlotte, Laura, Katherine, Deb, Denise, Arminte, they were all the best that I’ve ever had!! I’m sorry if I forgot some but that doesn’t mean that were not good cause you all were great!! And the same goes for the nurses aid, I loved you all. I also wanted to thank Michelle for making things so much easier, she was a sweetheart and all the administration was great also. Everyone worked so well together in harmony and professional, compassionate, friendly, kind and that’s what I needed!! Thank you so much to you all.
Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island Our husband and father experienced professional, caring and kind service from Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island for 11 days and 10 nights. We were especially grateful for the thoughtful greeting we received from Nurse Jess, and Secretary Nancy at Rehab upon arriving at 7:00pm. We had expected that our loved one would be transferred from hospital by ambulance to Rehab in late afternoon, but when we got there, we learned that he had not yet arrived. Both Linda and Jess recognized immediately how very tired we were not only because of the hour, but also because of the previous days of stroke shock, hospitalization, surgery, and now treatment at Rehab. They suggested we put his belongings into his room. "Don't worry," they said. "We will take good care of him!" And so our time with our loved one began, confidently assured that he would be, indeed, well cared for. Special appreciation and recognition should be given to the team who began the rehabilitation process. Linda B, OT...Her encouragement, and often cajoling, with humor and praise, edged her patient to improve in movement, basic care and dressing, resulting in marked improvement. No question was ever too small, and always answered with intelligence and experience, providing us with understanding and hope. Laurie Watt, per diem speech therapist was the first person who helped us see the work needed to relearn to write and read. Her patience, and specific exercises were an inspiration to us, and spurred us on to work with our loved one. Both Laurie and full-time speech therapist, Lauren R, delivered cognitive results: a signature, both printed and written. The relearning had begun! Mat, PT, prompted our loved on to walking, climbing and descending stairs, all to readying him for reentry, sometimes even speed walking into the future. Alan and Donna, PTs also aided in this reassuring process. Rehab's skilled troupe is professionally rounded out through the rest of it's team. Along with Nurse Jess, Nurses Denise, Katherine, Charlotte, Brenda, Staci D, Petra and Brenda S. all tended to, and taught our loved one with kindness and care. Often overlooked, but by no means forgotten, are CNAs Denise and Alicia. Their tireless caregiving would earn them Marathons status easily. Dietary and cleaning staff served with a smile, and kept the patient rooms and facilities sparkling. Many, many thanks to each and everyone of you.
The staff here is professional and cordial. They make you feel at home and relaxed. The nursing and supporting staff are very attentive. They make sure my wife is comfortable at all times and that her needs are met. Our case manager Michelle is a dream to work with. She provides clear complete updates and answers all our questions. She has a very positive uplifting personality. The therapists are first rate. They have a perfect balance of toughness and compassion, knowing how much to push and knowing the patient's capabilities. I am so thankful that my wife was admitted to this facility. The administrative staff is also wonderful. They are so easy to work with making the paper jungle easier to negotiate. Thank you again for making this unpleasant situation more pleasant to deal with. Thank you again.
My mother had the best of care. The CNA’s were amazing, very patient, caring, and attentive. Special thanks to Laura and Denise for your kindness and compassion. OT & PT services were excellent. Thank you Wendy, Donna and others providing these services. Nursing/medical staff were great. Thank you Brenda and the other wonderful nursing and medical staff. The cleaning staff were also wonderful, especially Ed who sang to my mom every time he came to empty her trash. She said the food was very good too. Michaelle, her case manager kept me informed of everything. Discharge process was seamless and accommodated my schedule. Would recommend RHofRI to anyone who needs Acute Rehabilitation.
