Story

Whether you're a hiker, mountain biker or cross-country skier, the Rolling Huts, located in Washington's Methow Valley, are the perfect accommodation. Designed as a modern alternative to camping by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects in Seattle, the six huts are grouped as a herd, each with views of the mountains.

Each hut comes equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, fireplace and Wi-Fi. There is a sleeping platform perfect for two, and modular furniture in the living area that can be reconfigured to sleep two more. Each hut has an adjacent portable toilet. Full bathrooms and showers are housed in the centrally located barn a short distance away.

Fun, unique place. Be prepared for a rustic experience. No frills, other than the unique architecture, but such a one-of-a-kind place to stay at the foot of the mountains. Comfy bed, pet friendly, and would be a great place for a group to rent a few huts or the cottage. A good place to disconnect from busy life. The grille could use some upgrading and the promised wifi wasn't available unless you were standing outside by the office, but we really enjoyed our stay. The fireplace alone is a reason to go.

Loved, loved, loved it! My boyfriends and I first time and we loved the experience. One of the ladies on site the day we arrived was super nice and took the time to help us out. Very clean grounds. The tents were... well lol what you pay for, but I loved it. So peaceful. The river is so close too. Highly recommend it if you need some time to disconnect from the city and enjoy nature.

Architectural marvels, these "huts" are beautiful to look at but are very rustic. There is an attached portapotty that is very clean but it's still a portapotty. If you want a real bathroom or shower, it's a little walk but well-lit and safe. There is no air conditioning, and we went during a heat wave so it was rough going. There is a very cool fireplace, and I imagine during the cooler months it would be a dream. The restaurant on site is incredible and the owner is a gem.

Scenic views, warm cabin, terrible internet, fantastic cross country skiing, and the nearby Kelly's restaurant is amazing.
