Clean. Security fairly easy to navigate. Terminal A is 9000 miles from the Airport Metro Station. I saw no signs directing me to a shuttle - so hoofed it down and back on my trip to and from DC. Terminal A has only 1 restaurant you can sit down in. Then there is a hallway-of-amenities you can buy (rather than several stores) and some counter restaurants. Seating very limited in the terminal. The terminal is noisy (poor acoustics) - lots of ambient noise and it's difficult to hear announcements. If you are over-early for your flight - and you are departing from Terminal A - it's best to amuse yourself in the main part of the terminal before shuffling through security and hanging out near the gate.

I was dropping off my teenagers to visit their Dad for the Holidays. As we were headed to the Security Gate near Southwest Airlines, I had my Autistic son's tickets in my hand and was trying to explain to him where to go next. There were two airport employees checking tickets and directing traffic; I asked one of the employees (an older African American man) very politely whether or not we were in the right area. He ignored my question and abruptly said, "thats not your ticket". While I tried to explain they were for my son he angrily replied, "Give him the ticket, whats the matter with you?" Shocked, I proceeded to hand my son his tickets and hugged my kids goodbye. Again, the man screamed "You need to move!". Now, I may understand if it was busy. However, it was roughly 4:45 am and there was no one behind us. It was a terrible goodbye for our family. I've experienced terrible customer service before, but this was very upsetting!!!

I fly to this airport everytime I go to DC. It's a nice airport, but the staff here needs to go. They are rude and every time they go to check my bag they throw out items that are smaller then 4oz which is outrageous and it makes me so mad!They have no people skills and they should've never gotten the job in the first place. Don't get wrong I've met a few nice workers but the 85% of them are assholes. Also they really need more lines for the bag check. I fly delta and there is  only two damn lines and they are long as hell. It's crazy and it makes me come close to missing my flight.

Very close to Washington. Found it really easy to go there from and to Washington by taxi. Was quite busy, signage was not a problem for me as it is a rather small airport. Has everything you basically need. Good times.

 location to DC and metro stop makes it convenient. However Terminal C hotel shuttle waiting area is a smoking station. I inhaled at least 5 peoples smoke waiting for my hotel shuttle. I tried to escape it but you had to be close enough for the hotel shuttle bus to stop for you.  this is a problem with an easy solution.
