This is a nice little state campground for a stop over in cool/winter weather. I'll use it again when on my way between Ventura/central coast and Eastern Sierra or Death Valley NP or points east. Note that there is a lot of traffic noise from big rigs passing by throughout the night. You might bring ear plugs.

It's exactly what we needed. My dad had a stroke a couple years ago and doesn't walk well, but the accessible trail with the interpretive signs was a bit under a mile and had benches to rest, so it was perfect.

A great spot to see Joshua Trees on a paved trail. There is a small fee to park and spend time here, but there are plenty of shaded shelters over picnic tables to get out of the sun. There is a drinking fountain. The restrooms have pit toilets.
