I scrolled down to see some negative comments. And it’s true that this store doesn’t have good customer service. They are rude and demanding, and yet racist somehow. I love the stuffs they provide but I don’t like the staffs they offer.

They're great and know a lot, will even recommend you buy things elsewhere that they don't stock if it seems like your best option. My only qualm is only 1/6 employees at any given time knows anything about video so if he's busy you're up a creek

My fiancee (now wife) and I were getting married in Santa Barbara last week and were trying to get a PowerPoint slideshow on a flash drive converted to a playable DVD that we could show during our rehearsal dinner. We went to about 15 different places, each telling us they wouldn't be able to help, before happening upon Samy's Camera. We were directed to the film department where we were hooked up with Heather, who we explained our situation to. She tried a few things but we were unable to get it to work, one of the problems being that I had it in a .wmv file but they mostly used Macs. Most people would have probably given up at that point, but Heather booted up an old Windows computer they had to try it a different way. When that didn't work (because I had made the movie too long), I figured that was the end of it, and that it wasn't meant to be. Fortunately for us, Heather didn't give up that easily and wanted to try yet another route. Keep in mind we walked into the store one day before we needed the DVD. Unfortunately since we were running around all day, we were nearing closing time for the store, so we'd have to reconvene the next day, and she'd let the DVD burn overnight. Heather called me the next morning to tell me that something went wrong overnight and that the DVD didn't burn, but she had yet another method that she wanted to try. It was basically a hail mary and it would take nearly all day to try out. She also told me the quality may not be the greatest as she would have to compress it to get it to work. At this point I wasn't holding my breath since it was the day of the event and so much had already gone wrong (from me trying to burn it at home, to going to 15 other stores, to me overlooking the length limit of the DVD, etc.). We got to about an hour before the event when I received a call from Heather telling me that the DVD was finished and that she was playing it on a TV in the back and the quality looked great! Our wedding coordinator was fortunately in the area and picked it up for us and dropped it off at the hotel about 2 minutes before we were set to leave. We got to the event, popped the DVD in, and everything looked fantastic! We can't even begin to thank Heather enough for all of the effort she put into getting this to work for us. Not only did she try 3 or 4 methods to get this to work, but she put in countless hours over the course of two days. This was something my fiancee and I had put about 20 hours into, from pulling old photos out of an album, scanning them, etc. So we were pretty bummed when we thought it wasn't going to work out. Everyone at the rehearsal dinner absolutely loved looking at the old pictures, and it's all thanks to Heather!

Fair prices, and very knowledgeable staff. I couldn't do any better online, and got help to get a great camera.

Went to this store for film then left with a bad taste in my mouth. The woman who helped me acted like I was bothering her. She only answered my questions rudely. She didn't know prices for the film and didn't bother to find out, didn't offer a bag for my purchase, and overall had a bad attitude. This store may need to stress to employees what "customer service" is.
