When I was touring and living in Portland, this was my Haven. Kaylee is a Labrador and border collie mix and needs lots of space to burn off energy. This area has both tons of open Fields, forest, and of course places for her to swim. It's called a dog park but it's really over 1000 acres and a fantastic place just to come and be in nature. So close to the city and yet so far away!

It's called Doggy Disneyland for a reason. ☺️

There's a meadow (fenced off from the highway) where you can start your trek from if you don't want to go through the woods. Bring a towel or two for when it's been rainy. 

All the trails will (eventually) lead you to water, be it the Sandy River or Columbia. There's a lovely tiny ridge trail that's more for pups that like to jump over downed trees as well as sandy trails for those pups that go crazy on a beach. 

Make your way to the Sandy delta area and it's the best for just chilling. Hike in with a camp chair and just sit in the river-you won't regret it. 

There's a confluence trail that is strictly for leashed dogs and there can be horses too, so obey the rules.

Perfect place to let your dog off leash to run around. 1000 acres in the palm of your hands!! It’s a must go.

This is a place of relaxing walking the bathrooms were bad but I liked the walk
This is a dog park + person park 
I recamend you bring your dog here or 
Walk around the park with your friends

I came here last week. And it was a good experience with my dog. This place is called sandy for a reason 😂 there is a lot of sand once you reach the water. And you may get sand in your shoes and some mosquito bites. Overall it's a great place to bring your dog and you get to see all kinds of dog breeds. Just make sure to bring extra pair of shoes, hat, and towel.
