**If any other customers have had a bad experience and feel that they are owed something from Santa Monica Rover, please feel free to contact me. I purchased a vehicle from Santa Monica Rover in November 2012. The day we came to sign the paper work and drive the car away I noticed that the back windshield was separating from the convertible top. I pointed this out right away (before the contract was even signed) and Fred told me that it would be repaired anytime I want to bring it back at no charge to me, of course. He stated it would only take a couple hours. I asked him about the other parts on the vehicle Specifically the brakes and tires. Fred told me that the mechanic checks over the entire vehicle and makes sure ALL parts are above 50%. I brought the car back the next night after work. I was told it was too late for them to fix the window. The following weekend I brought the car in. They informed me that they can't do it on the weekends. It had started to rain for about a week straight and the whole inside of the car was covered in water and mold had begun to grow on the inside of the convertible top. I have no where to park this vehicle out of the elements. Finally I was able to Schedule a time they would be available. I picked the car up 8 hrs later per their request. When i arrived the glue was still wet and the window and convertible top were being held together by a thin piece of blue tape. The very next day the window had separated from the top AGAIN. I called Fred and informed him this had happened. He told me the only way it can be fixed is to buy a whole new top. The glass is factory heat sealed. WHAT!!!! I'm so angry that they didn't tell me this from the beginning. I would have never bought a vehicle with a broken window and one that would cost over $1000 to replace!! I'm still dealing with this very frustrating issue. I have called Santa Monica Rover so many times asking to speak to so many different people hoping that someone would fix this huge problem that they sold me. They always tell me to call back and ask for someone else. They promised it would be repaired by them and they have not done it. Gets better...... After only having the vehicle for 5 months I got a flat tire on the highway. AAA comes and informs me that my two front tires are so bald on the inside that the wire is showing through. These are specialty tires so they are a bit more expensive. $260. for 2 front tires. They checked my back tires and found that I have the same problem there as well. These were not sold to me at more than 50% working condition. I'm very upset with this dealership and every opportunity I get I make sure to inform people of where NOT to buy a vehicle!!!!!!! I have filed a claim against them with the BBB!

Bought an extremely overpriced Land Rover Discovery. It was leaking power steering fluid and needed 5000$ worth of engine maintenance. Lacks professionalism; do not recommend this place as a fit for one looking for a good deal. Despite the staff's pleasant courtship they violated my rights by opening my correspondence.

I found the car I wanted great price. I live out of state so had a limited time in Santa Monica. Viewed 8 cars over Labor day weekend diffrent dealerships and by far their approach won me over sure I could have went to a big lot dealer and got a "free" IPAD or something but you all know there is nothing free in life. I couldn't be happier with my car and would certainly go back. It's hard now days to find a dealership who isn't hard sell

I purchased a 2011 Range Rover Sport HSE Luxury and could not be happier with the service from Santa Monica Rover (now Santa Monica SUV's) The sales person was Andy - he was excellent - very, very patient and not al all pushy. He is extremely knowledgeable and gave me sound, impartial advice on the various cars that suited my budget. I made three separate visits before I made a decision! Camran is a senior manager who handles the paperwork and finance. I took out a little finance for 12 months and he arranged this with no fuss. After I left the dealership I noticed a mistake on the paperwork and informed Camran. He replied immediately to resolve the genuine oversight and could not have been more helpful or courteous.... arranging for a new contract with no fuss! Be wary of the poor reviews on here: I am very critical of all things customer service and can say that this business is well run and prides itself on customer service. What a shame more satisfied customer can't be more motivated to give accurate feedback! Thank you Camran and Andy....when the time is right I will definitely be back for my next Range Rover (Supercharged next time!)

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! Camren (the GM) is as unethical as they come! I purchased a Range Rover from them. First, they gave me the CarFax of a nearly identical RR that was "cleaner" than the vehicle which I agreed to purchase. I discovered it mid-sale and should have stopped and walked away right then but I acted against my better judgement. I drove the RR home, parked in my driveway, and next morning noticed that a pool of oil has developed under the car. I immediately drove back to the dealership where Camren said he would have his mechanics look at it and solve the problem. They said there was no problem and tried to convince me that the oil pool must have been in my driveway from a different car. I returned home, placed a towel under the car, and waited as it collected more oil. I then drove back, showed them the towel, and again they promised they would solve the issue and "to not worry, they would take care of me." They told me to go to a nearby mechanic and have him assess the problem. The mechanic found out that the transmission pan was cracked (which he said would have been evident to any mechanic) and required a $750 repair. Before agreeing to the mechanic's repair, I attempted to call Santa Monica Rover to discuss. For three consecutive days, they told me Camren was the only one who could make a decision and he had just left. I finally consented to the repair and paid for it out of pocket. I then called Santa Monica Rover every day for the next two weeks, getting the identical story of Camren just stepped out. When I finally connected with him, he said that they could have solved it for $100 and paid for it, but since I took it to another mechanic (one that they sent me to) I am out of luck. What's more, the check engine light came on shortly after. I took it in to the same mechanic who did the repair who ran the diagnostics. He told me that the errors had been reset shortly before my purchase of the car, evidently to hide the fact there was an underlying problem. I made plenty of mistakes with these guys, mainly not walking away and not having an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle. That being said, they are fine misrepresenting the state of the vehicle and even going to what I consider outright fraud to do so. AVOID!
