Had a great time! First of all, their shakes are very good. Lots of flavors and varieties. Also, somewhat surprisingly, the food was very good. My kids got corn dogs, and truly, they were some of the best corn dogs I've ever tried. Mine and my wife's burgers were really good too. The one negative is that it gets a little expensive if you are eating and getting shakes for everyone.

They say the variety is the spice of life, so Shake, Shake, a neighborhood special for the north end of Tacoma, Is a rare spice. A pleasant throwback to malt shops of old, to they serve a delightful variety of burgers, pies and, you guessed it, Shakes. Prices are on the high side of reasonable, but reasonable nonetheless. The atmosphere is light with a mix of rock and soul music piped in at just about the perfect volume to still have a conversation with the person across the table from you but not much further. Every time I go in there I'm always pleasantly greeted by the cheerful wait staff. If you find yourself on the north end and have a hankering for a good burger and a shake, then look no further.

LOVE the classic burger at this place and the milkshakes.  Ask for the "Mini" Classic Burger instead of the single (I don't think it's officially on the menu) if you want plenty of food, not to be overstuffed, and a cheaper option.  Just the Single Classic Burger is very large, and friends I've brought there wished they'd have just gotten the "mini", like me, after seeing my burger size compared to theirs.  Especially if you're going for a milkshake and fries, choose the mini.  Was tempted to say 4 out of 5 stars is because the fries are not my favorite (not salted well, in my opinion) and there's no vegetarian option on the menu, but I chose 5 stars because if you're just there for the burger and milkshake, this place is one of the best in Tacoma.

Not living up to it's potential right now. This place has a kitschy vintage look and a nice outdoor seating area. They do boozy shakes and the burger would've been pretty good if not for the dense, crumbly bun. There is no table service; even when sitting at the bar you are required to place your order at a counter first. Staff seemed rushed and inattentive, garbage cans overflowing and bathroom soap dispenser empty when I was there. Could benefit from renewed focus on service and product quality.

Cool little burger place with an old drive in diner feel. Outside and inside seating, kids high chairs available. Outside seating has propane rock fire displays on the picnic benches for those cold evenings. Gluten free buns are only $0.99! The Tiger shake (Almond Roche and Caramel) is bomb! And the fries with Truffle Aolie dipping sauce....
