Spoons is our "go-to" spot. We love the variety of food, and how wonderful it always tastes. The grilled veggies are absolutely awesome- wonderful seasoning. The sandwiches are great, and my husband loves the meatloaf. I guess most of McKinney feels the same about Spoons, that's why there can sometimes be a bit of a wait during normal restaurant rush hours.

Good place for breakfast anytime. Staff is friendly and attentive. Great place for family, outdoor area is nice and in a good location for shopping. Oh they also have a bar and a happy hour M-F 3 to 6. The desserts are good! Now the bad, slice cheese on omelettes, uncomfortable chairs, kids portions are huge, t-shirts for sale only adult sizes that's it!

Went in on a late Sunday afternoon. Got seated outside, with no room to pull a chair out, then moved to another outside table. The wind blew away the napkins keeping the table from wobbling, so we were taken around the corner and down the sidewalk to their other dining room. No music, no atmosphere, our shoes were sticking to whatever had been spilled on the floor before we got there. Our appetizer was missing 1/2 the ingredients, had to ask twice to get water and napkins. Never saw our waiter again. Chicken fried steak sandwich and hamburger were over cooked, dry and inedible. We asked for a manger twice. Finally got a hostess, who had seated us. When we conveyed our disappointment, she told us "Well, you agreed to sit back here". What? This was our first and only time here. It was horrible.

The food was mostly good. The atmosphere feels like it would be a perfect fit for downtown Austin. The meatloaf was great and so was the omlett. Minus 2 stars just because the mashed potatoes were instant potatoes. Any decent restaurant should never serve instant potatoes.

Both the wife and I agreed the Caribbean salad was GOOD! Which is a good thing because we're both on the paleo diet kick. We also ordered the chicken dinner entree which was good, too. Our waitress was a bit slow to attend us though I'll chalk that up to them being busy or maybe she was new. If it is the same slow service next time I'll update this review. Summary: Good food
