Nurses on the fifth floor are the best. They are very compassionate and caring....but the doctors are not very good. One doc spent less than a minute in my room. Another doctor came in and was in such a rush and was very rude, she actually injured me and didn't even apologize. Had some very bad experiences while there from medical records being falsified to having unnecessary tests and procedures that only padded the bill. I would definitely NOT recommend this hospital.

My dad underwent an emergency surgery at St. Anthony's a few weeks ago. From the ER, to the OR, to recovery/surgery step-down, our family was so very grateful for the amazing doctors, nurses, and techs. Everyone who helped my dad was kind, extremely competent, responsive, and so so patient when answering our many questions, which is more than I can say for many of my previous experiences at other hospitals. We are so glad he came here.

I went to St. Anthony's Emergency Room yesterday morning with severe lower back pain on my left side - to the point that I'm in tears and could hardly walk. I was placed in the children's portion of the emergency room rather quickly (I'm 21 - not sure why I was taken this side of the emergency room), but anyways, the nurse and doctor came in maybe 30 minutes after being there. The doctor pressed on my stomach and back lightly and ordered a urine sample. She said that she was going to have someone come in to give me a shot to help with the pain. About an hour passed and nobody had been in yet with the shot or to do any other kind of tests. At this point I'm slightly annoyed and still in so much pain. Still in tears. My boyfriend goes and asks the DOCTOR what was going on and if she knew about how long it would be until someone came in. The doctor proceeds to tell him that she hasn't even checked yet to see what the urine test said, and tells him that someone would be right in to give me a shot to help my pain. Two more hours pass by and still NOTHING. My boyfriend went out for the third time to ask when I was at least going to get a shot or anything for the pain. The doctor tells him that the nurse is with another patient and will be right in after that. Thirty minutes pass and the doctor FINALLY comes in (mind you this is the only time anyone had been in since I first got there) to ask if I had received my shot yet. I'm still in tears. I told her no I had not. She tells me that she will send him right in and that the urine sample had a little bacteria that could be causing the pain or it could be something with my muscles. She wasn't sure, but she prescribed some antibiotics just in case. While she is in the room, the male nurse walks in and the doctor walks out. The nurse does not say one word to me or my boyfriend. He grabbed my arm, wiped it down and stuck the shot in my arm. Neither the doctor nor the nurse told me what he was injecting into my arm. After that, I signed the discharge papers and left. Skip ahead to 3:00 A.M. this morning, I wake up and the pain is still unbearable. My boyfriend insists that we go back to the emergency room, but a different hospital. He took me to St. John's were I was seen immediately by doctors and nurses who explained everything they were doing. I told them about my experience with St. Anthony's and they were shocked. Shocked by the poor communication, lack of tests done, the medicine prescribed, ect. The doctor I was seen by at St. John's did a urine sample, blood work, and a cat scan. && guess what? My issue goes further than a little bacteria in my urine. I have a severe kidney infection as well as some stuff that showed up in my blood work that could have been found if the staff St. Anthony's did their jobs. I get that things happen and what if they were busy, but they weren't busy at all. The nurse that took my to my room told me how slow it was for a Monday. I will NEVER go to or recommend this hospital ever again.

My aunt Joy stayed at this hospital for 24 days. They were so wonderful to her. She was treated with so much respect. Thank you so much for treating her like family and giving her the best care possible. I recommend this hospital to anyone. The staff in every department was wonderful.
