About

A classic American Diner in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Story

Ted's Bulletin is a real American classic joint with a bit of style - complete with savory homemade food and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The fare, though unabashedly familiar, is just like mom used to make but gussied up. Takes on grilled cheese, homemade pop tarts, meatloaf, and country fried steak are sure to please. Breakfast is served daily beginning at 7am. Guests can also check out our homemade pastry case with scrumptious pies, cakes, muffins, and other throw backs like oatmeal cream pies. Bulletin features its very own shaketender and barista, ready to whip up custom milkshakes - with or without alcohol and coffee favorites. Have a classic cocktail made the old fahsioned way or your favorite sipping liquor served over one cube from the Macallan Ice Baller.

Good food--I had the Reuben w/fries and liked it. It was a very rockin' place to take young children on a Tuesday night. Lots of other toddlers. My daughter had the chicken fingers and fruit and liked them. Staff very nice and kid friendly. Tall table a bit awkward for high stair (actually two stacked high chairs).

Loved this place! Fun and formal atmosphere with traditional character. Great staff. Delicious food (and deserts!). I was just visiting DC for the first time. I will definitely be back when I visit again. Paid $26 for a generous Reuben sandwich (claimed to be the best in DC) and fries along with a chocolate shake.

This place was recommended by several of my friends when I told them I was going to D.C. and I understand why. The food and service was incredible. Our server was very accommodating. Our favorite part was the dessert! The mile high chocolate cream pie was delicious! It was so good we went back later in the week just for dessert! Definitely worth checking out!

Ted’s used to be one of my favorite casual dining restaurants. The food was solid (if slightly overpriced) and the service was friendly. The biggest problem at the time was the wait. It’s a small place and it’s very popular so there was always a wait. It became something of a joke, “We’ll try Ted’s, be told it’s a 2 hour wait, and then go down the street to Matchbox.” Even adjusted for DC pricing it’s slightly expensive for solid Sadly, things have changed. The past few times the food hasn’t been as good and/or mistakes have been made in preparation. The old-timey theme, which arguably had lost its charm was showing cracks with ESPN on the TVs instead of black & white movies and bartenders looking less sharp. I would still recommend giving it a shot especially for an early breakfast.

Yum! I enjoyed my late breakfast at Ted's. I ordered the Mini Chicken biscuits and as you can see from the picture, they are far from mini! I imagined something about the size of Chickfila's chicken minis, of which 3 is merely a snack. Ha! Well, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my biscuits. Maurice was our waiter and he was quite good. My husband ordered the Jon's Omelette or something like that. He didn't speak much while eating, so it must have been tasty. $35 for two great breakfasts and tea. I will return!
