Date night. The service was excellent but the food was definitely a miss. The flavors were all wrong for each course. The meatballs were covered with cheese but the sauce that covered them was bland, a child could have prepared the food better. When a person taste buds are set for Italian food this is not the place to go. The scenery is breathe taking and worth the trip to the neighborhood but it would be a huge mistake wasting your money at this overpriced restaurant ( and I use that word very loosely when I describe this place) I think a better chef needs to take the reigns at this place because if I spend over a hundred dollars for a meal I expect something more than a culinary abortion.

Sadly this meal was a real let down. I tried the chef's special, currently a 'gnocchi allá romana," that was dry and totally bland. I would have been less than thrilled paying $12 for it, let alone over 20 for a supposed chef special. It was basically one step up from store-bought frozen lasagna. The service was pretty good, although a really good server probably would've noticed my lack of satisfaction with the food. My specialty cocktail was too heavy on the bitters, which sadly overpowered what might have otherwise been a good drink. Three stars instead of two because my wife seemed to really enjoy her seafood soup, so not a total loss..

I loved the cozy atmosphere and our waitress provided extraordinary service! Food slight bit over priced and if you can't cook very well, it's understandable to pay the prices demanded to cover the real estate on the water. I ordered an Eggplant sandwich and it sucked. The soup was tasty, but too watery, but I loved the restaurant.

Without a doubt, some of the best Italian food I've tasted. I had the ricotta cheese ravioli in a light butter sauce ;absolutely amazing. The steak salad was phenomenal. The wine was delicious. The service, excellent. Great views from the open, all window dining room. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I don't want to overstate this, but....living near, traveling to or ever being near the Navy Yard and not having Osteria Moroni should be illegal. Their house pasta is incredible and the chef has the best homemade sauce I've ever tried. Make this stop a priority. You don't regret it.
