Pretty decent Thai food. Their curries are actually pretty good. The pad Thai, a Thai food staple isn't done particularly well here. The atmosphere inside is nice, service is good.

Choices are limited in the Van Ness area and Thai Pad is pretty much the only solid and consistent option my girlfriend and I rely on. It's located a very convenient distance away from our apartment so pickup is quick and easy and the food always satisfies our cravings and reaffirms our decision to be lazy and not cook our food. They are also willing to make changes to their food, like spiciness level, which my girlfriend really appreciates. EDIT: I guess I spoke too soon with my last review, as the last two meals I've had from Thai Pad were sub par. I will continue getting food here but I will be sticking with the dish I usually get (chicken pad thai) rather than trying anything else on the menu. Looks like the honeymoon has ended. EDIT: I've been back several times and only gotten the chicken pad thai. It is stellar every time. It seems like their main noodle dishes are their specialty so stick to those and you will have a great time. Their thai iced tea is also the best I've had in my life.

We were literally the first customers to walk into Thai Pad on its opening day! The food is the best Thai food my wife and I have ever had. The friendly owners have included many healthy options such as brown rice and lots of vegetable dishes, and there is a very clean and inviting atmosphere. We'd highly suggest the mango dessert, the drunken noodle, any curry dish, the summer rolls (not fried), pad thai, and many other dishes. We keep going back because of the symphony of flavors in every dish we order, and we are always delighted by their wide variety of dishes. Their lunch and even dinner prices are very reasonable, and the portions are extremely generous. We always have enough for lunch the next day. One of the bet gems in DC!

Don't listen to the haters, everything on the menu here is delicious, and the presentation is always eye catching and classy. My favorites include the sukhothai soup, the oven roasted half chicken with papaya salad, and if you like soft shell crab, they do an amazing fried one with chili garlic sauce. Don't be afraid to try something new-- they offer so much more than just stir fried noodle dishes and curries. This place is a hidden jewel in Forest Hills!
