Story

The Fox & Hounds Tavern has long been a favorite spot for Cheshire visitors and St. Louisans to enjoy a cold pint and a bite to eat. Now the cozy pub has been preserved and reinvented for the next generation.

Pull up a stool at the bar or relax in a plush chair by the big stone fireplace and choose a favorite from our extensive drink list. Distinguished tastes will appreciate the dozen different varieties of Irish, American and Scottish whiskey. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may even try a yard of ale – a true Fox & Hounds tradition! A small plates menu will ensure that your cocktail of choice can be enjoyed alongside a savory lunch, dinner or late night snack.

Had a pleasant overnight stay at the Cheshire. Staff were wonderful and helped us with everything. They even let us check in early! Enjoyed food and drinks while relaxing on the comfy patio furniture near the pool. The theme of the hotel is truly unique, it makes you want to come back to see what the other rooms are like. Some things feel a little cramped given the size of the rooms and ornate furniture. I must have banged my knee close to three times and was not a happy camper. You won't need to go far for great food and drinks though. Basso has a fantastic happy hour and Boundary serves somewhat more upscale fare. Be sure to swing by Parkers Table during your stay, the staff will help you find a bottle of wine, beer, or cheese that is perfect for you!

From the outside it looks like a motor hotel (I know, motel...), but the inside is well decorated and very thematic while not being over powering. The continental breakfast is good and airways includes scrambled eggs and some meat option as well as fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt and juice. The front desk is staffed by helpful, friendly people. The location by Forest Park is perfect for running, walking, visiting the zoo or golfing in the summer. The one thing missing is a mini fridge in the room! Luckily I was here in the winter, so I stored and dinner leftovers on the windowsill...

This hotel and restaurant/ lounge area is great if your out of town or have lived in the St. Louis area your whole life! My family have stayed in the hotel they liked it you get a nice breakfast in the morning downstairs and all day water and tea downstairs which is nice. The ambiance of the place is so cozy and amazing! There are gas and real fire places in the hotel and in the small tavern on site The Fox and Hound. The hotel is also nice because it is dog friendly. For hotel guests and city residents you can go into the hotel to the small tavern The Fox and Hound. This small nook tavern is very cute with its low lighting, gas fire place, wood floors and classic furniture it’s great place to enjoy a pint of beer, glass of wine or whatever you might fancy. Keep in mind it’s a small space so come early and grab a seat! There is also live music from time to time which is nice. Also on site there are many restaurants to go to it’s a great place for a date night, friends night or just staying in the hotel!

So charming! The staff are all very friendly, warm and professional. The rooms are spacious but you'll want to spend time in the the comfy common areas. I stayed here while my dad was in the hospital two blocks away -- very convenient. Plan to come back!
