Story

The Peddler - Brushy Creek is the second location of our shop in Austin. Our original shop is in Central Austin. Having lived in the Avery Ranch area for the last four years enjoying all the great riding in the immediate area, we are happy to have had the chance to open the new location. Whatever type of riding you do, be it cruising the neighborhood and hike n bike trails, mashing the gears out to the end of Parmer lane and back, or crushing obstacles on the local singletrack, we're here for your needs. We love that so many people in the area are involved in cycling of all types.

I have had a lot of issues with my chain slipping while riding.  It's very annoying and often dangerous.  It seemed to me that this was something that should be fixable, but I had sort of lost hope for my bikes, having taken them in elsewhere for the same issue several times.  It would maybe be a little better, but not really fixed.   Well, I decided to give The Peddler a shot and I am so glad I did.  The problem is absolutely fixed, AND for a much better price than I was paying elsewhere.  I will definitely be going here for any future repair work.

Have gone in several times with partially disassembled forks, shocks, headsets etc where I don't have the tools to finish a rebuild/service.   These guys have always been able to press in, press out, etc while I wait, and always charged a fair price for the quick service.  Also, small wear parts: cables/housing/etc, always seem to be on par or cheaper than online shops.

Super impressed with the knowledge AJ and his crew have provided and the service they have proved on my new bike which they don't even sell. The bike shop that sold me the bike failed multiple times on some tuning issues where AJ's shop nailed the tuning in one attempt. This is even more proof why AJ and his shops have been a reliable staple in  the biking community for many years. Many thx guys!

These guys helped me get a nice, respectable budget bike - a Cannondale Catalyst. I thought that by buying cheap (for a bike shop, at least), I would be sacrificing part quality and customer service and was basically buying a cheap throwaway bike for the shop to make an easy buck off of. I'm about at my 1 year mark with this bike, and I gotta say - all my fears have been laid to rest. Every time I go to the shop with it, I'm treated like anyone else. I've asked them several times if I need to replace parts to get something more trail worthy, and I've had different people on different visits assure me its good to go. The do great at honoring their 1 year free service and labor warranty, and have always done it with a smile. 

The Cannondale has been beat up on the rock gardens of Austins Green Belt, handled soft and deep rocky riverbed crossings with ease, brakes exactly as good as I need, flies along up hills and along the windy trails of Brushy Creek and Walnut Creek. 

I travel an hour to come to this shop, and I pass up two local shops along the way. Its all about respect. Treat your customers with respect in your attitude, pricing, and service, and you'll retain a loyal customer.
