Everyone, Brittany and Joanna especially, were professional and made my surprise spa day the most relaxing day I've had in quite a while. I have already and will continue to recommend The Red Door to friends and family.

Long story short, I went to the Tyson's location for a color correction for my previously terrible appointment at their Pentagon location where a they shampooed my hair with bleach, and performed a balayage that left me with stripes and spots, and covered with a color that I hated. Initially I was excited to have their lead colorist and educator to work on this mess that was my hair. My initial appointment was to consult. We decided that we would lighten the pieces that needed to be lightened, to make the balayage flawless before we tackled attempted to gray everything out, which was great! When I came back, the pigment was removed from the processed hair, me thinking that we'd lighten afterward. Instead, the stylist immediately mixed color to place on top. I noted that I thought we were going to lighten my hair, followed by my surprise that we'd be done that day, and the response was "well we'll see what happens." This was not what I expected, but hey, I'm no color educator! Well, at the end of my appointment, I looked exactly as I did when I left the Pentagon location - unhappy and green. I went back again the next week, telling them my concern of not correcting the balayage or lightening my hair at all, and just putting grey on my yellow hair, which made that green color. Wondering how a color educator wouldn't know that this would happen. Except he did. He said " yeah I knew it would look like that. If I lighten your hair it will fall out. Let's try putting more gray on top." Although I had heard from him as well as two other people there that my hair was so healthy! This is not what I expected as it didn't go with the plan , but hey, I'm no color educator. The grey looked better this time. Not close to what I wanted, but better. I noted my concern at my next appointment. The color was washing out and giving a blue tint. I actually hate blue in my hair. I asked about just covering it up, because by this point, I was tired of spending another Saturday there. I asked about lightening the gray mixture, which I was denied. I asked about covering it with another color to give it a different tint, which was denied as well. I was told my only two options were to go with a more permanent darker color like black, or to continue with adding the same color on again. The color that I hated. Needless to say, I didn't want my hair black. I didn't really want it blue either, but I couldn't walk around looking the way I did with ten different splotchy colors in my hair. I was defeated. My goal was dark roots to a gunmetal gray. My hair looks like a hot mess now, even worse than before - a near black with tint of blue. My stylist performing this color correction did not care what I wanted. He did not take pride in the work of fixing what had previously been done. He very obviously tried rushing me out the door without listening to any of my concerns whatsoever. I sat in my car and cried after that appointment - I take so much pride in my hair and it helps me to feel more confident in myself. Now I don't even want to look in the mirror. There was no way I could move forward without writing to their guest relations again to let them know how unhappy I was, so I sat in my car crying typing out an email in hopes that something would be done and that they would somehow undo everything to start my color correction the right way. I received confirmation that my email was received, yet it's been at least two weeks since I sent that in, and have not heard a word. When I wrote about my experience at Pentagon Row, I received a response in less than a week. It is now very obvious to me that this company could care less, and plan on forcing me to come out of my own pocket for an even more expensive color correction just to get this black out of my hair. I have worked at salons for over 6 years and can only say thanks so much for the worst color, experience, and customer service I have ever experienced at a salon, Red Door! I don't know how you retain business.

I highly recommend Sarah in the salon portion of the spa. She did a great job of matching my color from a previous highlight.
