Yeah, doesn't get much better than this place for their signature pastrami sandwiches. Full of flavor and hefty portions to fit its price about $19 for a Ruben. No fries but comes with side of pickled onions and a dill spear. You will be satisfied. Full bar has a decent selection of beers.

If you like Pastrami and Reubens you will love this place. The pastrami is so tender and delicious...I have to say better than what I’ve had in New York! Order a half sandwich if you’re on a diet or get full easily since the sandwiches are big. The next best part is the bread pudding. If you have room, you have to try it. Spectacular! Warm, fluffy, with rum sauce whipped cream AND ice cream...splurge and try it!

This place has been on my to do list for a while. Of course it's well known for being featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. We only had a short wait for a table, our server was super friendly and helpful. She even suggested we order less food when she realized we'd have more than enough to share with our young kiddos. That's also super appreciated! The food really was great! My own complaint is the cost for the amount of food you get. $20 for a normal size sandwich with no side? I'm not sure it's worth it.

Absolutely the best pastrami experience I have had in the Bay Area. I'll run back to the Refuge anytime I feel a pastrami urge. Perfect flavor. Perfect texture. Perfect cut. The pastrami was served on to. Great tasty fries. No matter how full they might seem from the outside seating is relatively quick. If you come with a full bladder beware. They have one restroom and it is shared between both men and women.

Cheese steaks are top notch. Pastrami is equally terrific. But the food is just to sustain long beer sessions. This place is dedicated to the craft of curating unique, high quality beers. Belgians, stouts are typically the highlight on this deep beer menu.
