I took my vehicle to another shop and had diagnostics done and was charged over 110.00. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to Tunex in Layton. They diagnosed is as a simple broken vacuum hose instead of a 700.00 gasket problem, then they didn’t charge me the diagnostic when I had them fix it! Wow! Great customer service, and fixed in less time than promised! Thanks Tunex! You have my business!

Don't usually write reviews but need to speak up on the Layton Tunex. I've taken my car's to them 4 times in the last year and have been very satisfied every time. They installed a part that did not clear the warning light, they put the old part back on did not charge me and informed me it was the computer. It was in fact the computer. Very satisfied with the work and their honestly. Wow I meant to give you Guy's a 5 Star!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!  This business is HIGHLY immoral and pays to buy your data from companies that won't reveal how they gather said info.
I got an stange email from this business saying they wanted my feedback from my "recent visit", seeing as I have NEVER been to ANY of their stores I was pretty taken aback.  The email was addressed to another person, but had my email address (which is my name, and as you can see I have a very unusually spelled name of "kairy", so it's not an email address that could have been mistakenly given).

Being alarmed I called them and wanted to know how they got my email address and why I had gotten this email about a car I have never owned (included in this email was the make, model, year, miles, VIN num, and licence plate of said car.  I'm sure whomever actually had this work done would love to know I have all this detailed info about them and their car thanks to Tunex) and they told me to call their corporate offices and gave me a number.  I called said number and some guy answered and said this wasn't Tunex and it hasn't been their number for a while, but that he is constantly getting calls for them.  That probably should have been my first clue that this company is poorly run.

I called back and informed them of the wrong number and so they give me another number to call (another location) and so I do and talk to someone who identifies himself as the manager.  I tell him the situation and he doesn't seem to care at all and tells me to just "unsubscribe".  I let him know I would do that, but I wanted to know how they even got my info in the first place seeing as how I have NEVER been to one of their stores ever.  He said he didn't know and I told him I wanted him to find out.  He begrudgingly said he would look into it.

About seven hours later I get a call back and he tells me that they pay some company to send out emails (spam) to people to get new business and if the customer hasn't given an email address to them the company will try and match their name to an email in that company's database and send out the survey.  My name and the name of their customer are NOTHING alike so I have no idea how the company they pay to send out spam matched us up, but according to him that's what happened.

I asked him if I could have the name of the company so I can contact them directly and have my email address removed from their database and he said he had no idea who they were.  

Me: "So you're paying some company, you have no idea who, to get people's information for you so you can send them spam?"
Tunex: "Yeah it's part of the package deal."
Me: "And you don't know how or where they get this information from that they sell you?"
Tunex: " Well . . . no."
Me: "And you don't seem to even care that this information might be gathered illegally, because I haven't even used this email address since I was in college 18 years ago, and all of a sudden I get an email from you guys with someone else's information?"
Tunex: "I wouldn't say I don't care."
Me: "Well you can't even tell me how or where they are getting all this personal data from or even the name of the company and yet you're still paying them for it, so seems to me like you don't care."
Tunex: "Well that's all I can tell you about it so unless you need anything else I'm going to go"
Me: "Not that I would have ever really been a customer, but I especially will not being giving you any business and you better believe I will tell anyone who is considering you how immorally you conduct your data acquisitions"
Tunes: "How DARE you threaten me!"
Me: "How is me telling the truth threatening you?"
Tunex: "You're trying to prevent me from getting business and that's a threat!"
Me: "Well maybe you shouldn't -"
Click he hangs up on me

If you're even considering giving this place your business keep in mind that they will sell your data to their business partners and possibly send your detailed car info along with your name to complete strangers and then do NOTHING to ensure you data is safe.

This place robbed my Freon out of my ac even though I had 1lbs in there when they tested it.  Now I have to waste another hour and a half of my day to go back and have them fill what they should have left in there!  Wasted my time and money.

I had my vehicle at another shop and they had diagnosed 1800.00 worth of repairs, tunex found the problem fast and it turned out to be a simple repair that cost 120.00. Tunex credited back my 80.00 they charge for the diagnostic and just charged me for the work they performed! We can't say enough about the honesty and integrity of all employees there. We always recommend this awesome shop to all of our friends and family and haven't been disappointed. Fast friendly reliable service
