My family's favorite area for biking. There are multiple traffic free options, including crossing the bridge to the island opposite or heading east toward the Big Dam Bridge. For beginners, however, I'd recommend going to the west end of the park, which has a lot of flat open trails. This area can be reached by crossing the bridge and biking west, but there is also a parking lot if you drive down Highway 10 to Pinnacle Valley Road (close to Maumelle Park).

Wonderful walk or bike ride! Make sure to get here early as parking can be hard to find.

Glad to see the added expense of my coffin nail habit going toward something many people enjoy. I've been out there a few times, every time I can't help but wonder why such an expensive and well made piece of art made by skilled tradesmen has went completely unprotected in the years since the bridge was built? Great steel work- painting it to extend it's service life dramatically would have cost a fraction of the expense of building and erecting it, seems like a no-brainer to me. At this point, stripping, neutralizing the oxidation process, and coating that beautiful steel work would cost significantly more than it would have immediately after the bridge was erected. Other than the nagging thoughts of the neglected steel work that always cross my mind when I visit or drive by, it's a pleasant experience of tranquility. Helps to clear the traffic jam of thoughts that tend to accumulate and clog one's head.
