We offer the highest quality veterinary medicine, surgery, wellness care, dentistry, diagnostics, and board certified specialist care! We have been a nineteen year resident of the welcoming and wonderful 9th & 9th neighborhood and in 2007 completed our new facility. I have two kitties (Bandit and Sir) who are beginning to age, and when I found a lump on Bandit at the beginning of the summer, they got us in to see a vet quickly. Bandit loved the tech who came in before the vet - and he very seldom likes men! Their staff put both me and my dear pet at ease, and his Dr. was both informative and encouraging. A few weeks later, I found a lump on Sir and was able to also get him in quickly, checked out, and surgery scheduled for him. After both visits and the surgery I received follow up calls from their vets to see how things were going, keep me informed about test results, etc...they also helped me get set up with a care credit card to help me pay for the procedure without causing extra stress as it is interest free for 6 months after a charge. I even received a call recently informing me that Bandit may be due for a booster vaccine. I really feel like they care about my furry friends AND me, and I would definitely recommend them!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the U Vet Clinic. The staff and doctors are super nice, and you can tell they genuinely care about the well being of your pets. My 5 year old German Shepherd is typically very shy, but the staff at the U handles him so well and makes him feel right at home. We're customers for life!

Nickel and Dimed - Was initially quite satisfied with vet services here. I've come in for vaccines, anal gland expression, surgery, and multiply health certificates for travel. Recently, I came in for yet another travel certificate (this time for travel in Europe) and was told by the office manager, and then again by Dr. Rachel Walton, that it wouldn't be possible to travel with my dog because of a mandatory wait time that would fall outside my dates of travel. Dr. Rachel Walton spoke with me for two minutes and did not examine my dog at all (didn't even have him on the table). I assumed I had not incurred a fee because no exam had taken place. I was quite surprised to get a call later that day saying that a fee was indeed being charged for the two minute conversation. I was taken aback, especially since I come in for so many services (again, in just the one year I've been living here). I spoke with Practice Manager, Dana Thomas, about the situation and to ask what the actual fee was. She was quite rude and spoke over me as if I was her child when I was explaining to her that I was more than happy to pay the fee and get a new vet. Honestly, it's not even about the money, it's about the principle. I guess it was worth it for them to lose a consistent client over $25 (again, not for a dog exam, but for Dr. Rachel Walton to repeat to me what the office manager had just told me - a full two minute conversation). If Dr. Rachel Walton had even placed him on the exam table and felt around, I'd be more than happy to pay, but again NO EXAM OF ANY KIND TOOK PLACE. I guess when you take your pet/family to a place for repeated care you expect to be more than a dollar sign, not the case at University Veterinary Hospital & Diagnostic Center. Makes one wonder if the care they provide is what is actually needed or if they're playing on fear for your pet's health to make a quick buck. University Veterinary Hospital & Diagnostic Center is the shady mechanic of vets.

I love everything about this place! Everyone is so friendly and you can tell they are genuinely concerned for your pet's health. It means a lot when you are scared to have people who are knowledgeable and compassionate.

They were so kind, loving, and attentive to my sick dog. I don't have a lot of money, but I wanted the best care for my pup so before they did anything, they went over what they recommended, the cost, things they could also do above the absolute necessary and why they might recommend it. I felt like I was working with as a team to create the best treatment plan for my dog. They were completely booked the day I called, but let me drop her off for a couple hours so that they could still treat her and they did that for free. Their prices were very reasonable and some less than a lot of other places I called. I highly and absolutely recommend them. My pup is fine and healthy now and that means the world to me.
