I was looking for a shipping tube which my local post office didn't carry, but the clerk insisted they'd have some at the main downtown branch. Well, apparently they don't carry them either - you have to order them online. I told the clerk that I'd had an order in for over three months and ... crickets. Oh well - UPS it is, then. But the trip wasn't wasted. Turns out that this post office is a beautiful example of 1930's Art Deco architecture, specifically the "PWA Moderne" style popular in the early 30's. Other than some of the printed matter mounted on the walls, and the blue recycling bins, very little has changed in 90 years.
If I could rate 0 stars, I WOULD. USPS is a disappointment. You don't get your deliveries on time, you don't get anything you expect from them. I have a package that's supposed to be here today Saturday, July 30th, and it left the distribution center at 7:11pm! That's NOT the first time this has happened. I'll more than likely be getting it tomorrow 7/31, and I won't be home when it gets here. And it will sit at the door for the week, and will more than likely, be stolen. The USPS is not reliable at all. And this goes for EVERYTHING in the USPS system, and ALL their distribution centers!
The post lady that helped me out was extremely rude. She explained to me I couldn’t use the label I had with the type of package I was using, but I didn’t understand her the way said it…so I asked for clarification, and she said, “how are you not understanding me.” Unreal. She ended up calling me rude for asking questions to understand what she meant. Yikes.
Full service close 8:00 pm ,self service, box section open until 11:00 pm
DO NOT open a post office box here, especially online. They will waste your time making you go back and forth between this window & that window all day long. Nobody knows what needs to be done or what the process is, and nobody wants to be helpful about it at all. Just incompetence and waste; Kafka would be proud...
This is the "big" Minneapolis post office. Every USPS service available. Always a bit of a line, but it moves quickly. Open the longest hours.
Shipping & receiving docks are in between the two buildings. Make a left turn from 3rd S Ave to 1st St S and you’ll see the directions to the docks
My expectations from USPS could be low, but wholly... .I cannot even remember having had such a customer service experience before!!! How more rude, unprofessional, lacking work ethics they could be?!! I drove all the way down from Duluth, to pick up my package, and, it was way beyond my expectations; The first guy Russian/east European literally couldn't speak english and showed me his absolute lack of interest in helping me finding my package. The second employee, the woman, was even worse. She started with a slang before even listening to me! I hope there is some form of monitoring and check-and-balance.
They do not care one bit for the safety of others while delivering from this location.
I was there last week to renew expired passport for my father. The African American lady I didn’t see her name was very rude. She yelled at us and everyone in the line was hearing our conversation. She was answering personal phone calls while she was telling me what to do. I filled out my application got everything i needed she still refused to help me. She gave us one application after another we didn’t need any of it. Thank god Karen helped us. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes. I don’t understand what’s wrong with her but needs to treat people better. She ruined my day and gave me a really bad headache that day.
