I had a post office box in Wells, and received notification that it would be expiring by the end of the month. I was to fill out the card to renew and return with a check to cover the next 6 months, I did exactly that right away. I received a phone call yesterday, the amount had gone up significantly and I owed them more money because I didn’t get the check to them before the rates went up. I sent that check out weeks before the due date. Post office was slow to open the envelope and apply it to my account. So unfair. The woman on the phone was discourteous, unprofessional, confrontational and unwilling to admit they were wrong, I’ve had to cancel the PO Box. I wonder how long it will be before they return my check.
One of the delivery drivers for my address regularly fails to deliver packages and mail despite being fully capable of doing so. I was supposed to have a package delivered today, so I waited and waited until about 7 pm our mail usually arrives by 4 pm, only to check the mailbox and find that our neighbor’s package was delivered, but not mine. Since our mailboxes are right next to each other, I decided to check my tracking info to see what was going on because it was marked as ‘out for delivery’ this morning. Come to find out, he claimed there was no access to my address, which is just total garbage considering he had already delivered a package to my location that day. A delayed delivery isn’t that big of an issue for this package, but on several occasions, my grandparents next door have had the same thing happen to them with insulin which needs to be refrigerated immediately and other important medications. I’ve seen this driver go right past our houses several days in a row and then deliver all of the mail from the past week on one day, which I can only assume is because by the end of the week, he runs out of room for anymore. It is absolutely infuriating that tax dollars go towards paying this downright lazy man who clearly has no idea how important it can be to receive mail in a timely fashion.
Love this little post office. Very attentive, capable and professional. I mail on average 1 priority package per day. Never lost an item or had it be late.
The people who work here love to be picky. My dad wanted to mail a package and the employees pestering him about advertising in the mail. If you want to mail something without being harassed go to the next closest location. Very rarely do we see a nice or even a chill employee.
This has got to be the worst post office in the entire country. Consistently mark packages as "Delivered" that don't come for several more days. Working at home through Covid and sit literally 4 feet from my door and they regularly mark packages as "Undeliverable - Will try next business day" even though I haven't left for the entire day. Supposed to get 3 packages yesterday and had a stamped card in the mailbox with the flag up. Packages marked undelivered, no mail in box other than outgoing card still there. Post office never seems to care when I complain. This is what happens when there is ZERO accountability for your actions at work. If I said I did my job but really never even tried I would be fired in an instant! Marking packages as undeliverable is nothing short of lying and falsifying work records! Pay the little bit extra and get UPS/FedEx if it's an option. Unfortunately it isn't always a choice when ordering items online.
Held my mail, set the stop date online for the next day. Was moving out of Wells and needed them to hold it while I established a P.O. Box. Long story short my mail wasn’t properly held, I was told it would take 3-7 days to do it even though I put the next day. I am missing significant amount of mail. Spoke to the post master about it, opened up a Box and was told that they had no clue where the mail was. Came back 2 weeks later to check in my box, and I forgot the box number. They told me they couldn’t find the box and didn’t have my name in the Box list. Even though they have given me my mail out of the Box before when I knew the number. Was told they didn’t have time to look it up and come back another day. The front lady is genuinely nice, and maybe stressed out but the customer service is horrible especially from the post master. Basically now have no mail, or box number, and will have to contact Portland consumer affairs to resolve the problem because the Post Master has yet to even identify there is one. That’s the first part of resolving any issue.
Everyone here at this post office are hard working, and genuinely nice caring people.
I have had mail delivered via rural carrier from the Wells Post Office for many years and I've always been more than pleased with the service. The carrier is always pleasant and professional. When I'm away and receive mail once a week via "premium forwarding ", sometimes things don't go exactly right but most of the time I'm very satisfied. I think sometimes we consumers, including me, need to take a deep breath and understand that the people there are very friendly, work hard, and maybe sometimes things happen that are out of their control. They really are good people !!
IDK what is going on at the Wells branch but I am always having delivery issues, I don't receive my flyers and yes there only flyers but its still considered my mail. Also, I put out 2 cards and the cash for the stamps to put on them with my red flag up on my mailbox, my driver takes one card leaves the other with the money I put out. So now what will happens to that card with no stamp? This is an ongoing issue with this post office delivering my mail, I have spoken to the post master general and it still continues. I always think it could get better and it doesn't.
Our mail person loves leaving our packages in the yard during rainstorms! This has been happening for the past year, if not Longer. What happened to putting packages in a plastic bag to protect them!? Maybe even putting them in the front steps? I dunno, knocking on the door when there is a car in the driveway? A lot of our packages get destroyed.
