This is a fun experience for adults and kids as well as educational. You are able to explore most areas of the ship above and below deck. There are selling guided tours and displays throughout that give you some of the glorious history of the ship and her crew. You can get a good sense of what life was like in this beast during WWII. You can also explore the WWII submarine USS Drum and a small but great collection of old and new military aircraft. I also stayed on ship overnight twice with Boy Scouts (only available for organized scout events I believe). Visit the USS Alabama and you won't regret it!

Always a good time. Came because Austal was having a tour of their newest Naval ship. And it was amazing to see. Never got to do something like that before, after the tour we got to eat and had full use of the park. It was kind of overcast but it was cool to have full use of the park. Got to see more than what I had previously, it was only my second time there. A fun day and you can learn a lot of history by visiting this park.

I am a vet of US ARMY from '69 to '78 and it was great to touch a piece of history. There were some old-time vets and friends of vets to answer questions, point out specific items, or to just chat. Take tour, or explore on your own. Have driven by many times while traveling between Texas and Florida but this time wasn't in a hurry. It was a great way to spend a few hours with the battleship, submarine and assorted aircraft. You can see it from the highway, so take less than five minutes to get to the parking area and explore the past where heroes were born

We went on what must have been one of the coldest days that Mobile has ever seen. Even so, it was really a neat experience. The self-guided tours are easy to follow with numbered arrows on the walls/floors (or, for those of us who are directionally challenged, it was a fun labyrinth to solve). The submarine is also interesting. Side note: Be sure to read about how many people were on that sub. Then try to imagine it... The only thing I didn't like was the virtual reality ride in the museum. I've been on them where they feel like you are actually flying, but in this one the virtual instruments on the screen block a lot of the view and it didn't feel very real. It was $5 a person and there were seven of us. We should have spent that money elsewhere. But, all in all it was a pretty good 2-3 hour outing for $15 admission each. Great views from the top, and tons of places to take some neat pictures in both the ship and the submarine.

This was a great trip for us. My 8 year old son loves planes, ships, submarines, and guns. He had a blast seeing everything there was to offer. My 14 year old daughter even enjoyed her time there. This was also the first time the kids had ever been to Alabama. We may have to take this trip again because it is an awesome learning experience for them.
