I got a flat tire. Looked up the closest bike shop. Saw Vans Cyclery. Says it was open, but 3 miles away. Didn't have a choice. Walked 3 damn miles in my bike shoes. Feet hurt like hell. Get to Vans and it's freaking closed!! Got here at 130pm. Says they're open until 3 on Saturdays. Don't advertise you're open if you're not!

Junior (grandson of the owner, Van) was extremely helpful and professional. I brought my mountain bike to be to look at, because when I bought it (from Walmart) whoever built the bike did a horrible job. Brakes were loose, my bike pedal crank shaft kept falling off, and my rear wheel hub was loose. However, Junior inspected and tightened everything including some worthwhile advice, free of charge. Grateful for excellent customer service at Van's, it's really hard to find these days.

Meet a young guy working there.  He seemed really nice and helped me change tires from my old bike.  Some random guy passed by and asked for some air for the tire of his bike.  The worker didn't even hesitate and helped the guy by putting the air for him.   We need these kinds of shops in our neighborhood.  Support your local business.
